This guide covers the new gear and Torrent appearance options associated with Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, plus several related weapons that are available without entering Shadow of the Erdtree. It is not a checklist of every item in the base game or expansion. Some rewards are simple pickups or purchases; others require boss progress, a quest, or a specific spell.
What Tarnished Edition adds—and which version includes the game
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition is the Nintendo Switch 2 release, which includes the original game and Shadow of the Erdtree. FromSoftware announced its launch for August 28, 2026, with four new armor sets, two starting classes, and three Torrent appearance options. The same additions are sold as the Tarnished Pack on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and Steam; the pack requires the separately sold base game. Bandai Namco lists physical and digital choices for the Switch 2 edition, but that does not establish stock in a particular region.

Get the two class equipment sets
Picking either new class at character creation gives you that class’s equipment. If you are playing an existing character—or choose the other class—use these locations for the armor and associated weapon.

Find the other new armor and weapons
These rewards are not starting-class equipment. Check the requirements before traveling: one encounter follows Radahn’s defeat, while the Broken Gold Mask rewards depend on a quest step and a spell.

Pick up related weapons without entering the expansion
These weapons are included in the location coverage because they are related gear, not because they are exclusive to Tarnished Edition. PC Gamer reports that they can be found in the base game without entering Shadow of the Erdtree.

Find and equip the three Torrent appearances
The three options are named Spectral Steed Regalia. Once you have one, change Torrent’s appearance at any Site of Grace using the “change spectral steed appearance” option.

A practical order for collecting the gear
- Decide whether you are starting fresh. If you want one of the two class sets and its weapon immediately, choose Idus Knight or Heavy Knight during character creation. Existing characters can use the merchant and world locations above.
- Collect the unblocked pickups and purchases as you pass through their regions. The class merchants, Idus Sword, Backhand Blades, Ritual Thrusting Shield, and Reed Great Katana have location-based routes; the latter two require the Siofra lift route and a trip into Dragonbarrow, respectively.
- Return to Stormveil after Godrick for Tree Sentinel Regalia. Its chest is behind the throne room, through the right-hand doorway.
- Visit Ranni’s Rise after defeating Loretta. The Carian Silver chest is downstairs in the tower’s main room.
- Do the Corhyn/Law of Regression sequence while Leyndell is still the capital. Secure the Golden Order Principia, learn the spell, and trigger the invasion before the city becomes Ashen Capital.
- After Radahn, search the northern route toward War-Dead Catacombs. Leontiel’s invasion and reward are on that road.
- Take the Altus Plateau road for Funereal Night Regalia. Follow it southeast from Hermit Merchant’s Shack to the cliffside sword memorial.
