Where can you get free stream alerts and graphics?
Streamlabs: ready-made themes, images, and sounds
Streamlabs says its free Alert Box can be customized with free themes, stock images, and sounds. Its Media Library guide, updated April 25, 2025, says Streamlabs Desktop includes hundreds of free alert themes. To browse them, open the Alertbox Library or Themes, select the Widget Themes tab, choose a theme, select the matching widgets, and install.

Streamlabs says themes in that library are vetted and that their designers have been paid for the rights. This is Streamlabs’ description of its own library, not an independent review of every asset. Ultra is an optional paid upgrade for access to a larger premium selection; you do not need it to use the free Alert Box and themes.
Finding graphics beyond a built-in library
A graphic or GIF being easy to find online does not mean it is cleared for your stream. Streamlabs’ resource guide names Giphy, Gifsme, Gif-King, and Gif Bin as possible places to find GIFs, but says to contact the GIF’s author for permission before using it. For other third-party graphics, check the specific asset’s terms or obtain permission rather than assuming it is free to reuse.

Where can you download free alert sounds?
Mixkit
Mixkit offers downloadable sound effects in WAV and MP3. It says its free effects may be used in personal and commercial projects, including YouTube and other online video projects, without required attribution. Check the current sound-effects license and the terms attached to the asset you download; Mixkit notes that different types of assets have different licenses.
Pixabay
Pixabay has a searchable sound-effects library with categories and search terms such as “notification,” “pop,” “click,” and “whoosh.” Its page reported “Over 130,000+ free sound effects shared by our talented community” on October 3, 2026; this is a dynamic page count, not an independent measurement.

Pixabay’s license summary says content may be used and modified for free without attribution, subject to restrictions. It prohibits standalone redistribution and says users are responsible for additional third-party rights. The summary is not the legally binding full license, so check the full terms and the specific asset, especially for commercial use or material containing recognizable people, branding, or marks.

How do you add a provider’s alerts to OBS?
- Choose an alert provider. Create or select the alerts you want and configure their types and media on the provider’s site or in its app.
- Copy its alert or widget URL. In Streamlabs, open Alert Box settings and copy the Widget URL.
- Add it in OBS Studio. In your scene’s Sources, add a Browser source and paste the provider’s URL into its URL field. Adjust the source dimensions and position to fit your layout.
- Test before going live. Use the provider’s test option, if available, and confirm the alert appears in the OBS preview with the expected visual and sound.
The OBS Project’s alert tutorial says, “you do NOT require any plugins to use alerts in your stream.” The alert provider hosts the overlay; OBS displays it as a Browser source. Streamlabs likewise documents using its Widget URL as a Browser source in OBS or another streaming program.

Can you use free sound effects on your stream?
Sometimes; “free” alone does not answer whether a sound is permitted for your use. Read the license for the particular file and confirm it covers your context, such as commercial streaming, editing, and any attribution requirement. Mixkit states that its free sound effects are permitted in personal and commercial projects under its license. Pixabay allows free use and modification subject to its restrictions and additional-rights caveat. Neither statement should be read as a guarantee that every possible third-party right has been cleared.
- Prefer a provider library that explains how its assets are cleared, and understand that this is still the provider’s claim about its library.
- For downloaded effects, save or note the asset page and applicable license terms so you can verify what applied when you chose the file.
- Do not assume a GIF, sound, logo, or clip is reusable because it appears in search results or is downloadable.
