You can run a bhajan stream from a Windows PC by sending a continuous playlist to YouTube through an encoder such as OBS. First enable live streaming and verify the channel at least 24 hours ahead; then clear the rights to every recording, configure YouTube’s stream settings, and test the broadcast before relying on it. “24/7” describes the schedule you intend—not a guarantee: power, internet, PC, encoder, or YouTube interruptions can take the stream offline.
1. Check that your channel can go live
If this is your first live stream, enable YouTube live streaming and verify the account at least 24 hours before you plan to broadcast. YouTube may impose restrictions on live-streaming access, including as a result of policy or copyright enforcement. Check access before preparing a continuous setup: YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming.

2. Make sure you have rights to the recordings
A bhajan’s devotional subject or traditional composition does not automatically clear a particular recording. Rights may differ for the composition, arrangement, performance, backing track, and recording. Use audio you own or have permission to stream, and confirm that the permission covers a YouTube live broadcast.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. Its Help page says: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If YouTube detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop using the content; if it remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. A license may not prevent a match-related interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID. For protected music, YouTube for Artists advises: “If you’re planning on using copyright-protected music during your live stream, we recommend coordinating with your label or distributor to avoid any issues, such as copyright strikes.” Read YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams and YouTube for Artists: What you need to know about going live.

3. Prepare a playlist and encoder on Windows
Choose and prepare the audio
Put the recordings you are authorized to use in a dedicated folder and decide their playback order. Check that each file plays fully and that transitions do not introduce long silences or unwanted audio. Keep a local copy of the playlist and note the order so you can restore it after a restart.
Install OBS and run its setup wizard
OBS Studio is a free, open-source encoder. Install it from the OBS Project, then follow its Auto-Configuration Wizard to establish a starting configuration. The wizard helps set up OBS; it does not verify music rights or guarantee that a PC and connection can sustain a continuous broadcast.

- Memory: 32GB DDR4 Ram
- Storage: 1TB Solid State Drive (SSD) Fast Boot + Storage

Build a simple scene
- Open OBS and create a scene for the broadcast.
- Add the bhajan audio as a media source. Select the prepared file or playlist and configure it to loop if that is how you want the stream to run.
- Add a still image or other visual only if you have the rights to use it. A still image does not change the need to clear the music.
- Play the scene locally and check that audio is audible, at a suitable level, and continues as intended. Avoid leaving desktop notifications or unrelated system audio in the broadcast.
For OBS’s current streaming workflow, see its streaming guide.

Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →4. Create the YouTube broadcast and connect OBS
- In YouTube Studio, open Create > Go live to enter Live Control Room. Create or schedule the live broadcast and select the appropriate visibility and audience settings for your channel.
- In Live Control Room, choose the stream/encoder workflow and copy the stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, include it in a screenshot, or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube as the service, and connect using the stream key if prompted. Paste the key carefully, then apply the settings.
- Return to Live Control Room and use the current encoder settings shown there as your source of truth. Start the OBS stream and wait for YouTube to receive and process the signal before starting the public broadcast.
5. Set encoder output to YouTube’s current requirements
YouTube recommends RTMPS for encoder ingest. Its encoder guidance calls for constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval; do not exceed four seconds. Use the current YouTube Live encoder settings and the values shown in Live Control Room for your chosen resolution and frame rate.

There is no single bitrate or resolution that is right for every Windows PC and upload connection. Choose a setting supported by both the encoder and connection, then check YouTube’s stream health during a test. If the signal drops frames or becomes unstable, lower the output load and test again rather than assuming a higher resolution is better. The stream is only as dependable as the PC, its power, and the network connection it uses.
6. Test and monitor before calling it a 24/7 stream
- Run a private or unlisted test broadcast, if appropriate for your channel, and confirm the picture, audio, playback loop, and stream health in Live Control Room.
- Check the full loop boundary and any playlist transitions. Listen for silence, abrupt cuts, duplicated audio, or files that stop before expected.
- Confirm the Windows PC will not sleep or hibernate during the intended broadcast, and avoid restarting or shutting it down while OBS is streaming.
- Monitor the stream after launch. If OBS, Windows, the router, power, or YouTube interrupts the broadcast, the stream may stop; the setup described here does not guarantee that a Windows PC will restart the encoder or recover unattended.
Google’s API documentation describes a 24/7 broadcast continuing while a separate event is broadcast on the same stream. That is platform behavior, not a promise of uninterrupted operation by your PC or an automatic-recovery feature: YouTube Live Streaming API: Broadcasts and streams.
