Where to Find Forward EBIT Estimates and Enterprise Value Data for Korean Stocks

FnGuide lists fiscal EBIT consensus and a rolling Fwd.12M EBIT field; OpenDART helps verify filed actuals. Learn how to compare forecasts and enterprise value consistently.

For company-by-company analyst estimates, start with FnGuide Company Guide. For a clearly specified rolling 12-month forward EBIT field, FnGuide’s paid FnSpace API catalog lists “EBIT (Fwd.12M)”; its paid fiscal consensus endpoint separately lists EBIT estimates by fiscal period. Use OpenDART to check filed financial statements and reports—not to obtain analyst forecasts.

Where to look for Korean stock forward EBIT

FnGuide Company Guide: company-level orientation

FnGuide Company Guide covers Korea Exchange and KOSDAQ listed companies and presents consensus alongside a financial highlight that compares historical actuals with future estimates. FnGuide says its consensus is based on securities analysts’ company-analysis reports, processed by FnGuide. Its definition describes consensus as the average of analyst estimates over the most recent three months for sales, operating profit, net income, and other measures. FnGuide Company Guide is a practical first stop to inspect a particular company and see whether estimates are displayed.

Do not assume that an operating-profit estimate shown for a fiscal year is the same as rolling forward EBIT. FnGuide’s help material defines a 12-month forward EPS calculation using FY1 and FY2 estimates weighted by month of year, but that is an EPS formula; it does not establish the corresponding formula for forward EBIT. Check the label and period attached to the EBIT field rather than inferring its construction from the EPS methodology.

FnSpace API: fiscal estimates versus rolling 12-month EBIT

FnGuide’s FnSpace API catalog lists two distinct paid, daily generated data options. The fiscal estimated-results endpoint includes EBIT among its output fields, along with EBITDA, free cash flow and financial-statement items. The separate forward-indicators endpoint explicitly lists “EBIT (Fwd.12M)” and “EBITDA (Fwd.12M).” The latter is the clearest documented field for a rolling 12-month forward EBIT measure. Review FnSpace’s API catalog for the endpoint descriptions and availability.

These are not interchangeable views: a fiscal estimate relates to a reporting period such as FY1 or FY2, while Fwd.12M denotes a rolling horizon. Before using an API result, verify the requested period, accounting basis, units and company coverage. A listed field does not mean every issuer has an estimate or current analyst coverage. The catalog describes the endpoints as paid; current pricing, eligibility, licensing and redistribution terms should be confirmed with FnGuide.

DataGuide: broader consensus workflow and estimate history

FnGuide describes DataGuide as providing company quarterly and annual estimates, analyst opinions and detailed consensus data, with consensus coverage from 2000 onward. It offers an Excel add-in and refresh workflow and is subscription-based. The reviewed product description does not state a subscription price; contact FnGuide for the current subscription procedure and fees. DataGuide may suit users who need a broader estimates workflow rather than a single company lookup.

Where to find enterprise value data—and what to verify

FnGuide Company Guide’s help material displays enterprise value (EV) as market capitalization plus financial debt minus cash-like financial assets. One displayed definition specifies market capitalization including non-controlling interests, while another version on the same help material does not include that qualifier. Attribute an EV figure to its provider and inspect the definition attached to the particular screen or dataset.

EV is not guaranteed to be calculated identically across data providers. Check how the source treats non-controlling interests, debt, cash-like balances, lease liabilities and preferred equity, and note the market-price date used in the calculation. A difference between two EV figures may reflect methodology or timing rather than an error.

Use OpenDART to verify reported actuals, not forecasts

OpenDART, the Financial Supervisory Service’s disclosure search service, provides disclosure-based financial information, single-company statements, major-account views, comparisons and downloads. It is useful for checking filed actuals and corporate reports alongside an analyst estimate; it is not an analyst-consensus forecast service.

The service cautions that disclosure information is prepared under the responsibility of the submitter and that the FSS cannot guarantee its accuracy or completeness; it also asks users to allow time for information to be served. Treat filings as the official disclosure record to consult, while observing that stated limitation.

A checklist for comparing estimates and EV

When you record or compare a figure, preserve enough context to make it interpretable:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • Forecast horizon: Label fiscal FY1 or FY2 estimates separately from a rolling Fwd.12M estimate.
  • Statistic and estimate vintage: Record whether the number is a mean consensus or another statistic, the analyst count if available, and the as-of or last-updated date.
  • Financial basis: Note consolidated or separate statements, accounting scope, units and currency.
  • EV definition: Identify the provider’s treatment of non-controlling interests, debt and cash-like assets, and include the market-price date.
  • Access and use rights: Distinguish public filings from paid subscriptions or APIs. Confirm current pricing and the rights to use or redistribute data with the provider.

Analyst estimates are estimates, not company guidance or reported results. The source, date and horizon belong next to the number whenever you share it.
