ZOOM Platform appears in a secondary guide to PC game stores as a storefront to consider for older games. That recommendation does not establish an official DRM policy or certify individual products. Treat it as a discovery lead: check the specific listing and how the game is delivered before paying.
How to check whether a game is actually DRM-free
- Read the product page for the exact game. Look for an explicit DRM statement and a description of what you receive.
- Confirm the delivery method. A downloadable installer or game files are different from a third-party platform key. If the listing offers a key, check whether launching or reinstalling the game requires another client or account.
- Check for a DRM-free build, not just a store listing. A game can be sold through a marketplace while its files or another offered version have different requirements. On itch.io, creators choose what files to upload.
- Check how updates are provided. Directly downloadable files may not update the same way as a game tied to a separate client. Confirm what the listing says about updates and access to files.
itch.io’s creator guidance says buyers want access to files on itch.io and that DRM-free uploads are preferred, but it is not a requirement for every listing. That makes the individual project page important even on the best-documented alternative.

What the DRM-free game counts can—and cannot—tell you
PCGamingWiki’s October 3, 2026 snapshot of its community-maintained index lists 2,296 itch.io games and 1,264 Humble Store games as DRM-free. These are index counts, not official storefront catalog totals, and can change. A count can help you discover titles; it cannot show that every game on a store is DRM-free or that a particular listing still offers the same files.
