Where are residential Speed Queen washers made?
Speed Queen says it has never produced home laundry equipment anywhere other than Ripon, Wisconsin. The company also says the first Speed Queen laundry machine was built there in 1908 and that it has remained headquartered there. Speed Queen’s American Quality page attributes those statements to the company.

Alliance Laundry Systems’ 2025 annual filing provides supporting context: it says the parent company’s U.S. facilities produce small-chassis top-load washers and front-load washers. Taken together, these sources support the answer that residential Speed Queen washers are made in the United States, not China.
Why does Alliance Laundry Systems have a China facility?
Speed Queen is part of Alliance Laundry Systems, whose business spans residential, commercial, and industrial laundry equipment. Alliance’s 2025 filing lists six manufacturing facilities: three in the United States and one each in the Czech Republic, Thailand, and China. It describes a total manufacturing footprint of approximately 2.7 million square feet, including approximately 2.0 million in the United States, 380,000 in the Czech Republic, 280,000 in Thailand, and 60,000 in China.

Those figures describe Alliance’s wider manufacturing network, not the origin of every product under every brand. The filing identifies washer production at U.S. facilities but does not identify the China facility as a source of residential Speed Queen washers. Its presence is therefore not evidence that a home Speed Queen washer is made in China. Alliance’s 2025 Form 10-K was filed March 13, 2026.
Does “made in the USA” mean every part is U.S.-made?
No. The cited company statements concern where home laundry equipment is produced; they do not establish the country of origin of every component. Alliance says it purchases materials and components from suppliers, but the filing does not provide a component-by-component origin breakdown. The manufacturing claim should not be expanded into a claim that every part is American-made.

How to check the origin of a specific washer
- Check the appliance’s country-of-origin marking. For the particular unit you are buying or own, inspect its label or marking rather than inferring its origin from the parent company’s global footprint.
- Find the model number. Speed Queen’s Manuals & Downloads page uses a model number to locate product literature.
- Verify model-specific information. Use the model number with the official product documentation, and ask the seller or Speed Queen for clarification if the marking and documentation do not resolve the question. The cited public sources do not provide a model-by-model origin table.
How far does Speed Queen’s statement apply?
The statement is about Speed Queen home laundry equipment. It should not automatically be applied to every commercial machine, export configuration, or future model. Alliance’s filing covers a broader business than residential Speed Queen washers, so a particular unit’s marking and model documentation remain the best way to verify its origin.

Speed Queen’s American Quality page reports more than 2,700 employees in its Ripon operation; the page does not specify the year for that figure. Alliance’s facility counts and square-footage figures are from its 2025 annual filing and describe the parent company’s global manufacturing network.
