If you mean EA’s Origin launcher, it has been replaced by the EA app on supported Windows PCs and Macs. Install or open the EA app and sign in with the same EA Account you used for Origin; EA says your Origin purchases transfer to that account.
How to find your Origin games
- Install or open the EA app. Get the current app and check device requirements on EA’s EA app page and FAQ.
- Sign in with your Origin account. Use the same EA Account ID that held your Origin purchases. If you used a different account, your library may not show the expected games.
- Check your library. EA says purchases made through Origin transfer automatically when you sign in with the same account. EA also says account information, including local and cloud data, achievements, friends, and purchases, carries over.
- Contact EA support if a purchase is missing. EA’s FAQ directs users with missing items to support.
Which app should you use?

Operating-system requirements can change, so check EA’s current requirements and FAQ before installing. On PC, EA says its app is required for EA games even if you launch them through Steam or Epic.

Why Origin disappeared
EA made the EA app its primary PC platform in 2022, replacing Origin, then announced the Mac app as Origin’s replacement on Mac in March 2024. During the Windows transition, EA said invited Origin users would find games and content, including previously installed games, in the EA app, with local and cloud saves and friends lists transferred. That was EA’s migration guidance, not a guarantee that every account would transfer without an issue.

EA described the save migration in its 2022 announcement this way: “Your local and cloud saves will transfer forward ensuring you can pick up where you left off.” The statement referred to the planned transition from Origin to the EA app.

If you meant a location inside a game
“Origin” can also refer to a place, menu, or item in a particular game. This question does not name a game, so there is no single in-game location to identify. Share the game’s title and the specific Origin you are looking for to get directions.
