AMD’s latest filing describes a manufacturing network built around outside suppliers, not a directory of AMD-owned chip factories. It identifies third-party companies for wafer fabrication and Asia-Pacific partners for assembly, testing, marking, and packaging. AMD’s offices—including its Santa Clara headquarters—are separate from those manufacturing arrangements.
Does AMD own the factories that make its chips?
AMD’s 2025 Form 10-K, filed February 4, 2026, identifies external foundries and manufacturing partners. It does not identify AMD-owned or AMD-operated wafer fabs. In this context, “AMD factory locations” is best understood as the locations of suppliers involved in making AMD products, rather than a list of AMD-owned plants. The filing names supplier companies and some product categories, but does not give exact fab addresses for each chip model or generation.

Where are AMD’s offices and operations?
AMD’s headquarters are in Santa Clara, California. Its 2025 Form 10-K also lists significant operations in Austin, San Jose, Shanghai, Markham, Longmont, Dublin, Singapore, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. These are corporate property or operations disclosures—not a directory of chip factories.
AMD reported approximately 6.8 million square feet of global space for research and development, engineering, administrative, and warehouse uses as of December 27, 2025. About 5.4 million square feet were leased and 1.4 million owned. That figure describes corporate space, not factory floor area. AMD 2025 Form 10-K

Which companies fabricate AMD wafers?
A wafer is the silicon disc on which chips are formed. AMD’s filing names these suppliers for specific product categories; it does not say that every AMD product uses every supplier.
| Supplier | AMD product category identified | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| TSMC | HPC, FPGA, and adaptive SoC wafers | Named by AMD for these categories; specific fab locations by product are not stated in the filing. |
| GLOBALFOUNDRIES | HPC wafers at 12 nm and 14 nm | AMD describes purchases for certain HPC products, not all AMD chips. |
| TSMC, UMC, and Samsung | Programmable-logic-device ICs | AMD names these suppliers for this category; the filing does not assign each product to a particular site. |

Where are AMD chips assembled and tested?
Wafer fabrication is only one stage. After fabrication, wafers may be sorted at the foundry or sent to assembly, test, marking, and packaging partners or subcontractors in the Asia-Pacific region. AMD names two joint ventures with Tongfu Microelectronics and identifies SPIL and KYEC as service providers in this downstream network.

The filing does not map each product to a specific assembly or test plant. So while AMD discloses an Asia-Pacific partner network, it does not establish which named site handles any particular processor, graphics chip, or other product.

Does TSMC’s worldwide footprint show where AMD chips are made?
No. TSMC’s 2025 annual report describes facilities in Taiwan and wafer fabs at TSMC Nanjing, TSMC Arizona, and Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing. It reports annual capacity exceeding 17 million 12-inch-equivalent wafers in 2025 across facilities managed by TSMC and its subsidiaries. That is TSMC-wide capacity—not AMD output, a capacity reservation for AMD, or evidence that AMD products are made at each listed site. TSMC 2025 Annual Report
A supplier’s list of facilities gives context about that supplier’s network. It does not, by itself, prove that AMD uses every facility on the list.

What can be said about the locations of AMD factories?
- Corporate locations: AMD is headquartered in Santa Clara and reports significant operations in several U.S. and international cities. These are not identified as chip fabs.
- Wafer fabrication: AMD names TSMC, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, UMC, and Samsung for specified product categories, without publishing a complete product-to-fab location map.
- Assembly and test: AMD describes partners and subcontractors in Asia-Pacific, including Tongfu Microelectronics joint ventures, SPIL, and KYEC, but does not assign each product to an individual plant.
Accordingly, claims that all AMD chips are made in Taiwan, that every listed AMD city contains a factory, or that every TSMC fab produces AMD chips go beyond what these company disclosures establish.
