Once the shop is available, do not spend automatically just because you have enough points. First identify the next upgrade your character can actually use. A discounted-looking item is still a poor purchase if it sits in storage, is replaced at the next level, or does not fit your build.
How to choose your first purchase
- Open the live Abyss shop. Confirm that the shop is unlocked for your character and note the exact point cost, remaining purchase limit, and availability period for each candidate.
- Write down your current bottleneck. Examples include a main stigma that cannot reach its next upgrade step, a missing accessory slot, or a crystal requirement for an upgrade you are ready to perform.

Use crystals early when
- You have a specific upgrade ready or nearly ready and crystals are the missing component.
- The resulting improvement applies to the build you are currently playing.
- The shop limit makes it sensible to secure the needed amount now.
Do not treat crystals as an automatic purchase
The cited guides do not provide a verified crystal-to-power calculation or a complete list of upgrade requirements. If you cannot name the upgrade the crystals will enable, compare them against a usable accessory before spending. Keep a written target in your notes or inspect the in-game upgrade screen so you do not buy an amount that cannot be used soon.

Accessories are therefore a conditional alternative: choose one when it removes your active bottleneck, not because accessories are always better than shards or crystals.
Why mid-tier armor is usually a poor early spend
Xtоpolis advises against buying mid-tier armor before level 50. The reason for following that guidance is practical: armor acquired during the earlier leveling window may be replaced quickly, making a limited Abyss Point purchase less durable than a material or accessory you can use for a defined progression step.

Medals belong in the same later category when your objective is faster character development. Check the live item description before deciding, since AllThingsHow’s guide does not establish a universal medal value or current shop limit.
