Choose a Galaxy family as a starting point
Samsung broadly positions Galaxy Z as its foldable family, Galaxy S as its premium flagship line, and Galaxy A as everyday or mid-range phones. FE models bring selected S-series features to a lower price point. These are general categories, not promises that every phone in a family has the same features. Samsung’s UK buying guide is useful for orientation, but compare the specific models available in your market.

Compare the exact models on the details that matter to you
Total cost and configuration
Compare the price for the storage configuration you want, and check whether the phone is carrier-locked or unlocked. If the price depends on a discount or trade-in, read the eligibility rules and compare the amount you actually pay—not just the advertised starting price. Prices and offers vary by market and can change.
Size and display
Check screen size, resolution, and refresh rate alongside how comfortable the phone will be to hold and carry. A larger display may suit video or reading, while a smaller device may be easier to use one-handed. Refresh rates also differ between models, even within the same family.

Cameras
Look at the camera lenses and features included, such as wide, ultra-wide, or telephoto cameras, rather than choosing by megapixel count alone. Consider which kinds of photos you take and whether the phone includes the camera types you will use.
Battery and charging
Compare battery capacity and supported wired charging, and check whether wireless charging is available if you rely on it. Also confirm whether you need to buy a compatible charger separately. Charging support varies by model; do not assume one Galaxy phone’s capabilities apply to another.

Storage, memory, and expansion
Choose enough built-in storage for your apps, photos, and videos, and compare memory configurations when the manufacturer lists them. If you plan to use a microSD card, confirm that the exact model has a card slot: some Galaxy phones support expansion and others do not.

Software support
Find the manufacturer’s operating-system and security-update commitment for the exact phone and market. Treat a support promise on one model’s product page as specific to that model, rather than assuming the same term applies to every Galaxy phone.

Use specifications to compare models—not series labels
Samsung’s US comparison of its 2026 A-series models shows why checking the individual specifications matters. It lists the A17 with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display at 90Hz, while the A27, A37, and A57 are listed with 120Hz displays. Storage and camera combinations also vary across those models.
For those four US-listed A-series phones, Samsung specifies 5,000mAh batteries, wired charging up to 25W for the A17 and A27 and up to 45W for the A37 and A57. Samsung says those compared models do not support wireless charging or PowerShare. The A17 and A27 support microSD cards up to 2TB; the A37 and A57 do not. These details apply to the models in that US comparison, not to Galaxy phones generally.

A separate example from Samsung’s US product listing is the Galaxy S26 FE 5G: the page gives a starting price of $699.99 before eligible trade-in and lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ display, a 4,900mAh battery, and 50MP wide, 12MP ultra-wide, and 8MP telephoto rear cameras. Those are US page details, not a universal price or a guarantee of the current offer. Check the live listing for your region and selected configuration. Samsung’s US S26 FE page also describes seven major Android OS upgrades and up to seven years of security patches for that model; do not generalize that commitment to every Galaxy phone.
Regional lineups and comparisons can differ. Samsung’s Ireland comparison, dated 25 March 2025, is another reminder to compare the display, cameras, and battery of the particular phones available where you live.

Check the local listing before checkout
- Match the market: open Samsung’s product page for your country and confirm the exact model name and regional version.
- Select the configuration: verify storage, memory where offered, and carrier or unlocked status.
- Confirm the essentials: check the display, camera setup, battery and charging support, expansion options, and stated software support for that model.
- Calculate the actual price: review the price for that configuration, delivery or carrier costs, and the conditions attached to any discount or trade-in.
- Check accessory compatibility: confirm that any case fits the selected model and that the charger supports the phone’s charging method and rate.
Samsung’s US phone buying guide can help narrow the range, but the local product listing is the place to verify current availability, specifications, and pricing.
