If you’re considering a GTA VI preorder, first confirm that the edition, platform, and format suit you. The game is scheduled for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. In the US, the announced prices are $79.99 for Standard and $99.99 for Ultimate. A boxed Standard Edition contains a download code, not a disc, and the digital preorder’s one-month GTA+ offer has renewal terms to check.
Should you preorder GTA VI?
Preorder if you have a supported console and are satisfied with the edition’s contents, seller terms, and any bonus conditions. Pause if you need a disc, are waiting for a platform other than PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, or have not checked the redemption and subscription details. The official materials establish the announced launch platforms and date, but do not establish a PC launch date. They also do not say that preordering is necessary to get the game or provides early access.

What editions are available, and what do they cost?
Take-Two announced US prices on June 24, 2026. Prices outside the US may differ; check the store or retailer for your region.
| Edition | What it includes | Announced US price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Base game | $79.99 |
| Ultimate | Base game plus the Ultimate Edition Upgrade, with added vehicles, weapons, clothing, businesses, and other story-linked content | $99.99 |
Rockstar says Standard Edition owners can buy the digital Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately after redeeming their game code. Compare the total cost of that route with Ultimate before buying, and decide whether the added content is worth the difference to you. Take-Two’s announcement gives the launch prices; Rockstar’s preorder details describe the editions and upgrade. The PlayStation Store also lists the US Standard Edition at $79.99: US PlayStation Store.

- This product contains a download code inside the box — no disc is included. Customer shipments will begin arriving November 12 for pre-load; game is playable starting November 19.
- Pre-order to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.
Does the physical edition include a disc?
No. Rockstar’s physical Standard Edition is code-in-box: the box contains a redeemable digital download code, not a disc. Rockstar Support states, “A disc will not be included in the box.” Do not buy it expecting a disc or the option to resell a game disc.
The physical Ultimate Edition is not available, but a buyer of the physical Standard Edition can purchase the digital upgrade after redeeming the code. Rockstar says physical Standard Edition copies are expected to be available for shipping or pickup starting November 12, 2026, to support preload; the game’s launch date remains November 19. Actual code availability depends on the retailer. Check the listing carefully if you specifically want a boxed item. Rockstar Support’s preorder details explain the format and timing.

What preorder bonuses and dates should you check?
Vintage Vice City Pack
Rockstar lists the Vintage Vice City Pack for qualifying preorders and purchases made before November 20, 2026. The listed items include a vehicle and garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. Confirm the retailer’s eligibility and how the bonus is delivered before counting it as part of the deal. Rockstar’s GTA VI page lists the game’s editions and preorder bonuses.

One month of GTA+ with a digital preorder
Digital preorder materials list one month of GTA+. On the US PlayStation Store, the offer must be redeemed by March 31, 2027, is limited to one redemption per account, and is tied to the account used for the preorder. After the promotional month, it renews monthly at the regular price unless canceled. Treat it as a time-limited subscription offer, not a permanently free month. Terms may differ by region, so read the offer shown on your own storefront. The US PlayStation Store listing gives these terms.

Preload is not early access
Digital preload is listed for November 12 at local midnight. The physical code-in-box version is also expected to become available from November 12 to support preload, depending on when the retailer provides the code. Preloading lets you download ahead of launch; it does not mean you can play before November 19. Rockstar’s preorder details provide the listed timing.
What to verify before paying
- Platform: Confirm that you are buying for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. The official launch announcement identifies those platforms; it does not provide a PC launch date. See Take-Two’s announcement.
- Code region: Rockstar ties activation restrictions to the platform account region and recommends buying from a retailer in the country associated with that account. Its support guide says PlayStation codes have regional groupings, while Xbox codes are not region-locked. Check the code’s region against your account before ordering. See Rockstar Support.
- Seller cancellation and delivery terms: For orders placed with other retailers, Rockstar directs purchase, refund, and delivery questions to the retailer that made the sale. Read that seller’s preorder cancellation and delivery terms. Rockstar Store physical preorder cancellations have a separate support route. See Rockstar Support.
- Bonus eligibility: Check the cutoff date, redemption steps, account eligibility, and any recurring subscription charge in the offer for your region.
- Box contents: If you choose physical Standard, make sure a code-in-box format works for you; there is no disc.
Is the Vice City collectible part of the game preorder?
No. The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is a separate premium limited-edition collectible, not a game edition or a requirement to play. Rockstar’s news listing dates its preorder announcement to September 24, 2026, and marks availability as while supplies last. The official pages reviewed do not establish remaining stock by region or Amazon availability, so check Rockstar’s listing for current details rather than assuming it is in stock. Rockstar’s GTA VI page lists the collection; the announcement appears in Rockstar Newswire.
