Star Wars Jedi: Survivor continues Cal Kestis’s story, but you can start with it without playing Jedi: Fallen Order first. Before you buy or launch it, check that your platform is supported, compare your PC with EA’s requirements, and choose a difficulty and accessibility settings that suit you.
Do you need to play Jedi: Fallen Order first?
No. EA says the games can stand alone, so Jedi: Survivor is accessible to newcomers. Playing Fallen Order first can provide context for the characters and events, but it is not a prerequisite. The story takes place five years after the earlier game, according to EA’s product page.

What PC requirements should you check?
EA’s current support page lists the following PC requirements. Meeting a minimum requirement does not guarantee a particular resolution or frame rate.
| Requirement | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 or newer | Windows 10 or newer |
| Processor | Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 | Intel Core i5-11600K or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 |
| Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Storage | 155 GB free space | 155 GB SSD |
| Graphics | 8 GB VRAM; GTX 1070 or RX 580 class or better | 8 GB VRAM; RTX 2070 or RX 6700 XT class or better |
There is a discrepancy in EA’s CPU listings: its support page gives Ryzen 5 1400 as the recommended AMD processor, while its product page lists Ryzen 5 5600X. Check the current EA support requirements and the chosen storefront before purchase. The support page was described as updated about five months before October 7, 2026, so requirements may change.

- Story Mode: choose this if you want combat to offer less resistance.
- Jedi Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, or Jedi Grand Master: choose a higher level if you want more challenge, moving up or down to find a comfortable fit.
You can change difficulty outside combat, and EA says difficulty does not change in-game rewards. You do not have to treat your initial choice as permanent. See EA’s general FAQ and support guidance.
