If you mean Intuit’s Mint personal finance app, ordinary Android troubleshooting cannot bring it back: Intuit announced in 2023 that Mint was going away. If you mean a different app that is currently supported, the Android steps below may help. Mint Mobile is a separate service.
Why the Intuit Mint app no longer works
On October 31, 2023, Intuit Credit Karma announced that Mint was going away and described a phased transition to Credit Karma for users who chose to move. The company wrote: “Mint is going away, and we have phased communications and user migration by design so the product team can ensure a smooth transition for Minters who decide to onboard to Credit Karma.” Read Intuit Credit Karma’s announcement.

That announcement documents the discontinuation and the planned migration; it does not establish that the old Mint Android app or a migration process is available now. Reinstalling Mint, clearing its cache, or updating Android will not restore the discontinued service.

Historical guidance quoted in an Intuit Community response on November 3, 2023 said that users who moved could transfer most financial account balances, historical net worth, and three years of transactions. It also said that after moving, users would no longer be able to access their Mint profile. This describes what was communicated at the time, not a current transfer guarantee. Current availability of Mint data export or migration is not established by those historical sources. Before changing accounts, check current official Intuit or Credit Karma account and data options. Do not assume that installing Credit Karma will recover a Mint profile or its records.
Fix a different Android app that will not open
For an app that is still supported and installed on your phone, Google recommends trying basic, reversible steps first. Menu names can vary by Android device. Google’s troubleshooting page advises: “After each step, restart your phone to see if it fixed the issue.” Google’s full Android app troubleshooting guide explains the sequence.

- Restart your phone. Try opening the app again after the phone restarts.
- Install available updates. Check for Android system updates and update the app through Google Play.
- Force stop the app. Open Settings, find the app in Apps, and choose Force stop; then reopen it.
- Clear the cache. In the app’s storage settings, clear its cache and test it again. Settings paths and labels differ across devices.
- Clear app data only if appropriate. This can remove locally stored information and reset the app, so check whether you can sign back in and whether your data is backed up first.
- Reinstall only after considering data loss. Uninstalling may erase app data. Reinstall from Google Play, then sign in again if you choose to proceed.
- Contact the app’s developer. If the app still crashes or will not open, use its official support channel and include your device model, Android version, and a description of what happens.

Credit Karma has an official Google Play listing. The listing displays [email protected] as its app support contact; this is support for Credit Karma, not a promise that Mint data can be recovered. Open Credit Karma’s Google Play listing. For sign-in trouble, use the app’s or official account’s recovery and support options.
