First, confirm the exact item you want—set, product type, language, and edition—then check Wizards of the Coast’s product information and contact nearby Wizards Play Network (WPN) game stores directly. They can tell you whether they have it, expect a delivery, or can arrange a special order or transfer. Those are useful checks, not a promise that the item will be available or restocked.
Confirm exactly which product is sold out
“A Magic product” can mean a booster pack, a Collector Booster, a Commander deck, a Bundle, or a limited Secret Lair drop. Before searching or contacting stores, write down the details that distinguish the item:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Set or release: Use the full set or product name.
- Product type: A Collector Booster is not the same product as a Play Booster, deck, or Bundle.
- Language and edition: Check the listing or packaging details so a different-language or different-edition item does not look like a match.
- Condition and format: Decide whether you need sealed product or would consider individual cards.
This makes it easier to compare store answers and online listings without mistaking a related product for the one you set out to find.
Check official product and release information
Look up the item on Wizards’ Magic products page and check the WPN products page for product details and listed release dates. These pages help identify the product and its release timing; they are not live inventory listings.

Arrival can vary by product and region. For example, in a notice dated June 4, 2026, Wizards said certain Marvel Super Heroes products could arrive after prerelease or the tabletop release, while other product types were on schedule. That notice applies to that release and those items, not to every set or a current product you are searching for. Check for a current notice about the specific release before assuming a delay—or a restock date.
Ask nearby WPN stores about stock and timing
Wizards says local WPN game stores remain the first place upcoming tabletop Magic products are available for sale. Its September 5, 2023 announcement specifically names boosters, Commander decks, Bundles, and other products available during Prerelease. This describes a sales channel, not the inventory of any particular store.

- Includes a mix of AT LEAST 25 Rares/Uncommons which is half of the cards.
- Absolutely NO... Basic lands, Foreign, or silver/gold bordered cards.
- Some may contain Foils or Mythics but not all.
- Sets can range from Beta to the current Magic the Gathering set.

Use the Wizards Store and Event Locator to find nearby WPN stores. The locator can also help find events and, where provided, show store details such as an address, phone number, or website. It does not promise live stock information, so contact the store directly.
When you call or message, give the exact product details and ask:

- 14 Cards Per Pack
- Is this exact product in stock, including the language and edition I want?
- If not, is a delivery expected, and is the timing confirmed or only an estimate?
- Can the store special-order it or check whether another location can transfer one?
- Can you reserve it, and what are the terms?
More than 6,000 game stores are part of the Wizards Play Network, according to Wizards’ WPN overview updated July 7, 2026. That network can make nearby store checks worthwhile, but membership does not establish that any store has a specific item.
If you shop online, verify the seller and listing
For sealed-product purchases in North America, Wizards advises buying from reputable dealers. Its purchasing guidance, updated July 28, 2026, says stores displaying the Authorized Internet Retailer logo have been approved by Wizards to sell sealed products online in North America. Do not assume that every seller on an online marketplace is authorized just because the marketplace offers Magic products.

Check that the listing matches the set, product type, language, edition, and condition you want, and review the seller and total cost, including shipping. Wizards also advises buyers to check packaging and pack seals. A listing or seller designation is not a substitute for checking the item you receive.
Handle Secret Lair as a special case
Secret Lair drops initially sell direct to consumers during limited sales windows. Some selected drops that include cards new to Magic may later be available in non-foil through WPN members and authorized distributors; Wizards says that availability is highly limited. See the Secret Lair and WPN information and ask a WPN store about the specific drop. Later availability is conditional, not a general restock promise.
Best Value
- Reprints, fun sketch cards, fetch lands and much more!
- 15 cards per pack.
Choose a fallback based on what you wanted the product for
If the exact item remains unavailable, decide which part matters most before buying something else:
- For sealed collecting or opening packs: Look for the same product from another reputable seller, or consider a different product from the set only if its contents and format suit you.
- For drafting or playing: Ask about an event or product designed for that play experience; a Collector Booster or other sealed item is not automatically a substitute.
- For specific cards: Consider buying individual cards instead of sealed product. That targets the cards you want, but it is not the same collecting or opening experience.
- For a limited drop: Check the official sales window and ask about any stated WPN distribution rather than treating a sold-out listing as evidence of a scheduled restock.
Compare alternatives by exact product match, sealed versus single cards, set, language and edition, seller and condition, region and delivery timing, and total price. No general restock rate or wait time is established for retailers such as Target, Walmart, Best Buy, or Barnes & Noble; availability needs to be checked with the retailer for the exact item.
