If your Galaxy A51 SIM tray won’t come out, power the phone off, align the eject pin straight into the hole in the tray, and press until the tray loosens. Pull it gently. If it does not release with this careful attempt, stop—don’t pry or keep increasing pressure—and arrange an inspection with Samsung or a qualified repair provider.
Try one careful ejection
- Power off the phone. AT&T’s Galaxy A51 instructions say to turn the device off before removing the SIM. Remove a case if it blocks the tray or prevents the pin from going in straight; a case is an access obstacle, not an established cause of a stuck tray.
- Find the tray and its eject hole. The Galaxy A51 tray is on the phone’s left side, according to iFixit’s A51 guide. Identify the tray outline and use the small hole in the tray itself, not a nearby opening. Samsung’s guidance also recommends checking the tray outline to locate the correct opening.
- Insert the pin perpendicular to the phone. Push the supplied eject pin straight into the tray hole until the tray loosens. The Galaxy A51 manual warns: “Ensure that the ejection pin is perpendicular to the hole. Otherwise, the device may be damaged.” If your pin is missing or damaged, iFixit describes using an eject tool, eject bit, or straightened paper clip in the correct hole.
- Pull the loosened tray straight out. Use your fingers and gentle pressure. Do not lever at the slot with a blade, pliers, or another tool.
If the tray still will not release
Stop if the tray does not loosen after the correctly aligned attempt, or if it is bent, broken, or moving abnormally. Do not pry, apply heat or liquid, use glue, or open the phone as a routine fix. The available guidance does not diagnose the cause of a particular jam. Samsung says service may be necessary when there are problems removing or inserting the tray; contact Samsung support or a qualified repair provider for inspection. Reinsert the tray safely
- Keep the tray dry.
- Position the SIM correctly, with its contacts facing down, as specified in the Galaxy A51 manual.
- Slide the tray fully into place without forcing it. The manual cautions that a wet tray or incomplete insertion can damage the device or allow liquid ingress.
Getting a replacement eject pin
If you do not have a usable eject pin, Samsung says a replacement may be available from a carrier or electronics retailer. Availability is not guaranteed. A suitable straightened paper clip is another option described by iFixit, provided it fits the actual tray hole and is held perpendicular.
