Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Start with the transaction hash (also called a transaction ID or TxID) and check it in a validated XRP Ledger record. A wallet’s “submitted” or pending message is not proof that a payment succeeded. If a validated transaction shows tesSUCCESS, it completed to the destination recorded on the ledger; a wrong address cannot be undone on-ledger, while a missing or incorrect exchange destination tag must be addressed with the receiving platform.
First, find out what happened to the transaction
- Find the transaction hash. Check the sending wallet or exchange’s transaction or withdrawal history. Note the sending address, destination address, amount, and any destination tag shown.
- Look up the hash. Use an XRP Ledger explorer or transaction lookup and check whether the result is validated. A provisional result can change; do not treat it as final. See the XRP Ledger finality guidance and its Send XRP tutorial.
- Read the validated result code.
tesSUCCESSmeans the payment succeeded. Any other result code in a validated ledger means the transaction failed. Validated results are immutable, according to the XRP Ledger documentation. - If there is no validated result, check again. XRP Ledger documentation says outcomes commonly become final in 4–7 seconds, but network load or connectivity issues can take longer. Do not send a duplicate payment just because the first one still appears pending.
- Check the expiry condition if the transaction remains absent. If no validated result appears after the transaction’s
LastLedgerSequencehas passed, it can no longer be included under that expiry condition. The finality documentation explains provisional outcomes and expiry.
If your XRP transfer is delayed or still pending
An initial submission message is not a final result. The transaction may be included in a later ledger, or it may fail to appear; wait for a validated outcome before deciding whether to try again. The network’s usual 4–7 second finality window is not a guarantee that every transfer will finish within that time.

Can you cancel it?
The XRP Ledger documents one method that may effectively cancel a transaction before validation: submit a replacement transaction from the same sending address using the same sequence number. It is not guaranteed, and may be too late once the original has been distributed to the network. This is an advanced operation for someone who controls the sending account—not a routine option for an exchange withdrawal. Consult the XRP Ledger guidance before attempting it.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIf XRP was sent to the wrong address
If the transaction is validated with tesSUCCESS, the XRP went to the destination address recorded in that transaction. The XRP Ledger cannot reverse a validated payment. Coinbase’s wrong-address guidance says to contact the recipient; if you do not know who controls the address, it says there are no available recovery actions.

The address belongs to an exchange or hosted wallet
Contact that provider through its official support channel and share the transaction hash and transfer details. Whether the provider can help depends on its control of the address and its policy. Do not assume recovery is possible: Binance says it generally does not recover deposits sent to incorrect addresses, although it may assist at its discretion in some cases, as described in its recovery guidance.
The address is a wallet you control
Check whether you control the destination account and can access it with the appropriate wallet credentials. The ledger records the destination, but it does not identify who controls an address or provide a way to reverse a payment. If you do not control the destination, your next step is to contact whoever does, if known.

If the address was right but the destination tag was missing or wrong
Destination tags help hosted platforms route XRP received at an address shared by multiple customers. The ledger cannot determine which platform customer a tag should identify; that mapping belongs to the recipient service. As a result, a payment can reach the platform’s address but remain uncredited to your account. The XRP Ledger documentation on source and destination tags explains their role.

Contact the receiving exchange through its official support channel and follow its current recovery process. Coinbase says to contact support about a wrong tag and be prepared to provide the transaction hash in its destination-tag guidance. Binance describes an application route for eligible deposits with a missing or incorrect tag; eligibility, fees, return-address rules, and processing depend on its current policy, detailed in its recovery guidance. Neither platform’s process guarantees recovery.

Use the deposit address and tag currently displayed by the recipient platform for future transfers. For example, Kraken says an XRP deposit address generated for its account has a unique mandatory destination tag; see its XRP deposit instructions.

Send the information the provider needs to identify the transfer, and use only its official support portal. Binance’s recovery guidance asks for the transaction hash and accurate deposit details and says that, after review, a return goes to the original sender address. That is Binance’s process; do not assume another platform follows the same rules.
