Open the live DoorDash order and try to correct it immediately: select Help, then choose Make adjustments to this order if it appears. If the change is unavailable, use the order’s cancellation flow or contact DoorDash support. Whether the restaurant has processed or confirmed the order—and whether a Dasher has been assigned—can affect what DoorDash lets you do and whether a refund or credit is offered.
Try to correct the live order first
- Open the DoorDash app or website and select the current order.
- Open Help and look for Make adjustments to this order. State the exact correction you need, such as removing an item or correcting a selection.
- If that option is not available, choose Chat with Support and ask whether the order can still be changed.
DoorDash says customers can ask support to make changes if the restaurant has not yet processed the order. Its guidance puts it this way: “If the restaurant has not yet processed your order, you can make adjustments by chatting with a support agent.” The option visible on your live order is the practical guide; availability can vary with order status.

Cancel if the order cannot be corrected
If the submitted order is too wrong to use, or support cannot make the needed change, request cancellation from the live order rather than placing another order before checking what happens to the first one.

- In the app, go to Orders, select the live order, then open Help and choose Cancel Order.
- On the DoorDash website, select the live order, open Help, and choose Cancel Order.
- Read the refund or credit terms shown in the flow before submitting the cancellation.
DoorDash’s general guidance for orders that are not late ties refund eligibility to the order’s status. It says a full refund generally applies when neither the restaurant has confirmed the order nor a Dasher has been assigned; partial refunds may apply in two intermediate combinations; and no refund generally applies when the restaurant has confirmed the order and a Dasher has been assigned. These are general guidelines, not a promise about a particular order: DoorDash says refund or credit decisions are at its discretion and subject to its consumer terms. If the AI placed a duplicate order
Use the duplicate order’s self-help cancellation option as soon as you notice it. DoorDash says an accidental duplicate may be cancelled through self-help, but states that cancellation is not available if the merchant has already confirmed the order. If self-help will not cancel it, contact support through the order. DoorDash’s duplicate-order guidance lists chat and phone support as available 24/7.
When to contact DoorDash support
Contact support if the adjustment option is missing, cancellation is refused, the order is already confirmed, or you need help understanding the displayed refund terms. Start from the affected order when possible and keep its details and confirmation information available. DoorDash’s support hub lists in-app chat, phone support, and automated guided help for delivery issues; the methods and interface shown can vary.

If the order arrives and is still wrong
Use Help on that order to report the problem that actually occurred with the delivery. A wrong order submitted by an agent is not automatically the same issue as an item being wrong or missing at delivery, so describe what was ordered and what arrived accurately.

What the AI-agent detail changes—and what it does not
DoorDash’s consumer help pages describe ordinary order adjustments, cancellations, and delivery support. They do not document a special reversal process for AI-agent orders, establish whether a third-party agent is authorized to place orders, or explain how to revoke that agent’s access. Handle the submitted order through DoorDash’s normal live-order flow. Separately, as a practical account-security precaution, review and remove the agent’s permissions in the service or tool through which you connected it; this is not a DoorDash-documented remedy.
