The closest documented match is the recording objective in A Dead End, a quest from Shani. Check the exact quest title and objective in your log first. If it says A Dead End, the conditional walkthrough below points to the locked MANTIKOR room beneath The Blue Gate: open the room with batteries, play the recording beside the monitors, collect the separate Dusty Film Reel, and extract with it. If your log uses different wording, these directions may not apply, and no confirmed fix for a missing or non-registering Nomad Recording has been established.
What the evidence actually confirms
The phrase Nomad Recording has not been verified as an official quest name, item name, or objective in the references available for this issue. That matters because a search result, player description, or translated label can differ from the text used by the game. Treat the phrase as a search clue rather than proof that the game contains a collectible with that exact name.

The strongest nearby match is A Dead End. The ARC Raiders Wiki lists it as a quest given by Shani and includes two relevant objectives: playing a recording next to monitors and finding a Dusty Film Reel. Two third-party walkthroughs describe the same sequence. Neither guide confirms that its recording is called Nomad Recording, and neither is an official statement from Embark Studios. A Reddit discussion mentions a recording-related Blue Gate quest but does not identify it as Nomad Recording or provide a solution for a missing objective.
Start with the quest log, not the map
Before returning to a location, establish what the game is actually asking you to do. Open the active-quest entry and read the title and objective text exactly as displayed. Record whether the objective says to play a recording, find a reel, interact with an object, or do something else. Also note whether the quest is currently active rather than merely listed among available or completed quests.
#1 Best Overall
- ARC Raiders Deluxe Edition includes the base game and the following content: The Wanderer Set, including the following cosmetic items: “Valente” Outfit" “Pathfinder” Backpack,“Blanket Roll” Backpack Attachment.
- Plus: Character Cosmetic, Finger Gun Rapid Fire Emote, Cowboy Scrappy Body Type and Skin, 2 400 Raider Tokens.
- Quest title: Compare the exact spelling with A Dead End.
- Objective wording: Look for a recording objective and a separate Dusty Film Reel objective.
- Interaction state: Decide whether the recording cannot be seen, cannot be interacted with, or interacts but does not update the objective.
- Quest state: Confirm that the quest is selected and active for the current deployment.
Those distinctions prevent a plausible location from being mistaken for a confirmed answer. A recording found for another quest, a completed objective that still appears in a menu, and an interaction that fails to register are different problems.
Conditional walkthrough if your quest is A Dead End
Use this route only when the quest log identifies A Dead End or its objective wording clearly matches the recording-and-reel sequence. The location and sequence come from community walkthroughs, so treat them as orientation rather than an official bug fix.
1. Go to The Blue Gate
The guides place A Dead End in MANTIKOR’s underground facilities on The Blue Gate. They do not establish a universal route from every spawn point, a required difficulty, or a particular game version. Follow the quest marker and the facility layout available in your session instead of assuming that a route from a video or older guide is unchanged.

2. Locate the locked room
Within the underground facility, the walkthroughs describe a locked room associated with the objectives. Batteries are used to open it. The references do not specify a battery count, exact placement, respawn behavior, or whether the batteries can be carried between runs, so do not infer those details from the general description. If the room is already open, inspect the objective text before assuming something has gone wrong.
3. Play the recording beside the monitors
After the room is accessible, look for the recording interaction next to the monitors. The documented objective is to play a recording by those monitors, not to pick up a named item called Nomad Recording. Use the on-screen interaction prompt and wait for the interaction to finish before moving away. If no prompt appears, note that absence as a symptom; the available references do not establish a repair for it.
4. Find the Dusty Film Reel separately
The Dusty Film Reel is a different objective from playing the recording. Completing one does not, by itself, prove that the other has registered. Check the quest tracker after the recording interaction, then search for and collect the reel as its own task. The guides describe the reel as an item you must take out of the area.

5. Extract with the reel
Community walkthroughs state that successful extraction with the Dusty Film Reel is needed to finish A Dead End. Confirm the tracker before leaving and again after the extraction result is shown. If the recording objective remains incomplete while the reel objective succeeds, report the two states separately rather than describing the problem only as a missing recording.
Use the symptom to narrow the problem
| What you see | What can be concluded | What to document next |
|---|---|---|
| No quest named A Dead End and no matching recording objective | The documented walkthrough is not a confirmed match for your quest. | Exact quest title, objective text, platform, game version, and the map named by the log. |
| A Dead End is active, but the locked room cannot be opened | The battery-and-room sequence has not been completed, or the session differs from the guide; the references do not identify a fix. | Whether batteries are present, whether the room state changes, and any on-screen message. |
| The room is open, but no recording prompt appears by the monitors | This is a missing interaction, not merely an objective that failed to update. | Exact monitor location, whether the quest is active, and whether other players can see or use the object. |
| The recording plays, but the tracker does not change | This is a registration failure; the guides do not document a verified remedy. | Objective text before and after interaction, interaction animation or sound, and whether the reel objective changes. |
| The recording objective completes, but the quest remains unfinished | The separate Dusty Film Reel and extraction requirements still need checking. | Whether the reel was collected and whether the deployment ended in a successful extraction. |
What is—and is not—a confirmed fix
No reliable source located for this topic confirms that abandoning the quest, restarting the game, reinstalling, changing platforms, or repeating the run repairs a missing Nomad Recording. Those actions may be suggested in player discussions, but they should not be presented as established solutions. Repeating an unverified reset can also discard useful evidence about the original state.
The only supported action is conditional navigation for A Dead End: verify the quest, reach the described MANTIKOR room on The Blue Gate, use the recording interaction by the monitors, collect the separate reel, and extract. If any step does not match your log or environment, stop treating the walkthrough as a diagnosis.

Information to collect before asking for help
A precise report is more useful than the label Nomad Recording alone. Capture the following while the issue is visible:
- The exact quest title and every objective line, copied from the quest log.
- Your platform and the game version shown by the launcher or title screen.
- Whether the quest is selected, active, or shared with another player.
- The map and named facility shown by the objective or marker.
- Whether the locked room is closed, open, or inaccessible for another reason.
- Whether the recording object is visible, whether an interaction prompt appears, and what happens after activation.
- The status of the Dusty Film Reel objective and whether extraction was successful.
- A short video or screenshot showing the objective text and the location, if your platform permits it.
These details separate an incorrect quest match from a missing object and from a tracker failure. They also give support staff a reproducible sequence instead of a name that the game may not use.

How to interpret the available guides
The ARC Raiders Wiki is useful for identifying the stated objectives and quest giver. The DamnModz walkthrough supplies the location and battery-room sequence, while GamerHour also separates the recording from the Dusty Film Reel and describes extraction. These are community references, not official technical documentation. Their agreement makes the A Dead End route plausible, but it does not establish that every current build uses identical object placement or that the route resolves a non-registering objective.

The Reddit post is weaker evidence for troubleshooting: it shows that players discuss a Blue Gate recording quest, but it neither names the interaction Nomad Recording nor reports a resolution. Do not turn that mention into a claim that the community has identified a known bug.
A practical decision path
- Read the log. If the title and objectives do not match A Dead End, keep the issue open as unidentified and do not follow the walkthrough as if it were confirmed.
- Match the location. If the log does say A Dead End, use The Blue Gate and the MANTIKOR underground facility as the conditional target.
- Match the interaction. In the locked battery-access room, check the recording by the monitors and distinguish it from the Dusty Film Reel.
- Check the result. Determine whether the tracker updated, whether the reel was collected, and whether extraction succeeded.
- Preserve the facts. If the interaction is absent or fails, record the exact state and report the platform, version, quest text, and symptom. There is currently no verified repair procedure to substitute for that evidence.
Bottom line for the missing-Nomad-Recording search
Do not assume that Nomad Recording is an official ARC Raiders objective. First verify the wording in your quest log. A Dead End is the closest supported match: its recording is played beside monitors in a locked MANTIKOR room on The Blue Gate, its Dusty Film Reel is a separate objective, and community guides say extraction with the reel completes the quest. If your quest differs, or if the interaction is missing or does not register, the available evidence does not provide a confirmed fix; document the exact state instead of relying on unverified resets.
