Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsStart with the transaction hash (TxID) and check it on an explorer for the network used. The blockchain status—missing, pending, confirmed, or failed—shows whether to contact the sender, the receiving service, or the address owner. A balance missing from an app does not by itself mean the transfer failed, and a confirmed transfer generally cannot be reversed.
Why is my crypto transfer delayed?
A transfer can be absent from the receiving app while it is still pending on the blockchain, or it can be confirmed on-chain but not yet credited by the receiving platform. Check the TxID on an explorer for the actual network used, then compare the transaction’s destination, asset, and network with the receiving instructions. Coinbase’s send and receive troubleshooting and OKX’s deposit guidance describe these distinct causes.

How to check a delayed or missing crypto transfer
- Get the transfer details. Ask the sender for the TxID, asset, amount, network, destination address, and time sent. If the transfer came from an exchange, check its withdrawal record. Coinbase recommends opening the transaction record and viewing it on a block explorer.
- Look up the TxID on the correct network’s explorer. If no transaction appears, verify that it was actually signed and submitted; ask the sending wallet or platform to investigate. If it is pending or has no confirmations, the receiving account may not yet be able to credit it. Do not resend until you know the original transaction’s status, or you could make a second transfer.
- Compare the on-chain transfer with the deposit instructions. Check the full address, asset or token, network, and any required memo or destination tag. Similar-looking networks are not interchangeable. OKX lists delayed confirmation, incorrect address or network, and a missing memo among possible reasons a deposit has not arrived.
- Choose the next step based on the status. Use the branches below; required confirmation counts and deposit rules vary by asset and receiving service.
My crypto transaction is pending—what should I do?
Contact the sender or the platform that sent the transfer. That is usually the party best placed to check its withdrawal or wallet record while the transaction remains unconfirmed. If the transfer is on Ethereum, a fee that is too low can leave it pending. Some wallets may offer a way to address a stuck transaction, but the available action depends on the wallet and the transaction’s state. Follow the sending wallet’s current instructions rather than trying generic cancellation or replacement steps. Coinbase’s troubleshooting guidance and Ethereum.org’s FAQ discuss pending transactions.
My deposit is confirmed on the blockchain but missing from the exchange
First make sure the confirmed transaction went to the exact address and network shown in the exchange’s deposit instructions, and that the asset and any memo or tag are correct. If they match, contact the exchange through its official support channel and provide the TxID, asset, amount, network, and relevant deposit details. Check account messages and outstanding verification requirements too; Coinbase notes that account verification tasks can affect receiving and crediting. Confirmation requirements and processing rules depend on the asset and service, so there is no universal confirmation threshold.

I sent crypto to the wrong address. Can I get it back?
Usually, a confirmed transfer cannot be reversed by the sender or a general support agent. Coinbase states, “Due to the irreversible nature of cryptocurrency protocols, transactions cannot be canceled or reversed once initiated.” Ethereum.org puts it plainly: “A transaction sent on Ethereum is irreversible.” If you know the recipient, ask them directly. If the address belongs to an exchange or hosted wallet, contact that service through its verified support channel; it may be able to help, but it is not required or guaranteed to recover the funds. If the owner is unknown, there may be no practical recovery route. See Coinbase’s wrong-address guidance and Ethereum.org’s FAQ.

Contact the receiving platform promptly using its official support process and provide the TxID and the transfer details it requests. Wrong-network deposits, unsupported assets, and missing memos or tags are handled under platform-specific rules; a service may not support recovery in a particular case. OKX says confirmed transfers generally cannot be reversed and recovery is not guaranteed. Its wrong-address guidance and the deposit troubleshooting page explain its own policies, not a universal rule.

Blockchain.com recovery terms are specific to that service
Blockchain.com’s Support Center, updated August 12, 2026, says it may consider certain supported-token, network, or memo/tag errors involving its own accounts or wallet. Its stated terms for qualifying cases include a $100 minimum value for simple recoveries and $3,000 for complicated recoveries; it retains 10% of successfully recovered funds and returns the remaining 90% subject to security checks. Complex cases may take 3+ months. These terms do not establish eligibility for any particular transfer or apply to other platforms; Blockchain.com also lists transfers it cannot recover, including certain unsupported-token transfers to its account. See its recovery policy.

How to avoid crypto recovery scams
- Reach support from the service’s official website or signed-in app, not through a stranger’s direct message or an unsolicited search ad.
- Never share a seed phrase or private key with someone claiming to recover funds. Ethereum.org warns that purported recovery helpers may be seeking access to the wallet.
- Do not pay a stranger who promises to unlock or accelerate a transfer, and do not assume that a recovery fee, wallet connection, or remote-access software can restore funds. Blockchain.com says, “We will never ask you to deposit significant funds to unfreeze your account or speed up stuck transaction.”
