Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteBefore comparing screen size or refresh rate, confirm that the glasses work with your exact phone, laptop, handheld or console setup—and that the optics fit your eyes. Many products marketed as AR or XR glasses are tethered personal displays, not standalone computers: they show content from a compatible connected device.
Check your device’s video output first
A USB-C socket alone does not mean a device can send video to glasses. Check the specifications for the exact device and port you plan to use for “DisplayPort over USB-C,” “DP Alt Mode,” “Alt DP over USB-C,” or an equivalent video-output feature. Some devices have multiple USB-C ports with different capabilities.

RayNeo’s support page, “How to Use & FAQ for RayNeo Best Smart Glasses”, advises checking the host device’s specifications and compatibility information. It also says RayNeo Air glasses use a required USB-C cable and do not support wireless connections. VITURE similarly directs buyers to the device maker’s specifications in its compatibility guidance.

Check the exact phone, tablet, laptop or handheld
Look up the full model name and the specifications for the port you will use. If the documentation is unclear, ask the device maker whether that port supports USB-C video output and check the glasses maker’s compatibility list. Do not infer video compatibility from charging or data support.
Confirm adapter paths for HDMI devices and consoles
If your source outputs HDMI, verify that the glasses maker supports the specific HDMI-to-USB-C adapter and host combination. XREAL documents adapters for PlayStation, Xbox and HDMI PCs. Its guide also says Nintendo Switch cannot connect directly to its glasses and describes using an XREAL Hub with external power or a power bank. The same guide says Steam Deck and ROG Ally can connect directly, with the Hub as an option for simultaneous charging and use. These directions apply to the XREAL setup described in that guide, not to all glasses.

For any third-party hub or adapter, confirm the direction of the video signal, DP Alt Mode support, power delivery and compatibility with both the source and glasses. “USB-C adapter” by itself is not a sufficient specification.
Check fit, IPD and prescription support
Fit is personal, and a model’s listed measurements cannot guarantee that its image will feel comfortable on your face. Check the glasses’ supported interpupillary distance (IPD), whether adjustment is physical or software-based, and whether you can see the full image—including its edges—when the glasses sit naturally on your nose and ears.

- YOUR PRIVATE 147” BIG SCREEN, ANYWHERE — Plug the a01+ into your phone, tablet, handheld, or laptop and a giant 147” screen appears in front of you—for movies, gaming, or getting work done on the couch, on a flight, or in bed. A true portable display you wear, in a soda-can-sized 210g case that drops in your pocket.
- ALWAYS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU — The screen follows your view with smooth, stabilized tracking and stays centered as you look around—nothing to anchor or set up, and no drift to reset. Press play and your big screen is simply there.
- 62G — LIGHT ENOUGH TO FORGET — At just 62g, with three nose-pad sizes and flexible temples, the a01+ stays comfortable through a long movie or flight, even lying down.
- LOOKS LIKE SUNGLASSES, NOT A GADGET — A slim, sunglasses-style frame with a signature semi-transparent chassis and neon logo—light and low-profile enough to actually wear out.
- WORKS WITH YOUR USB-C GEAR — No Battery to Charge — Connects and powers over a single USB-C DisplayPort cable: iPhone 15/16/17, iPad, DP-capable Android phones, Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Mac and PC. Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 and older (Lightning) iPhones need an adapter. For long phone sessions, add the XREAL Hub to charge and watch at once.
Specifications vary by model. XREAL lists a supported IPD range of 59.5–70.5 mm for One, and separate ranges for One Pro: 57–66 mm for M and 66–75 mm for L. RayNeo’s Air 2s FAQ gives 56–70 mm for that product context. Do not apply a range from one model to an entire brand. XREAL warns that an IPD mismatch can contribute to blur, incomplete image edges or eye strain.
If you wear prescription lenses
Check whether the exact model has built-in diopter adjustment, the prescription range it supports and whether a compatible insert is available. VITURE documents -5.0D myopia adjustment for its cited Pro, One and One Lite models, and describes a separate prescription frame for stronger correction. Its documentation distinguishes frame compatibility for later Luma and Beast lines. XREAL also notes that lens-frame models differ among One, One Pro, Air 2 series and Air. An insert that fits one generation may not fit another.

Compare the exact display specifications
For games and video, compare per-eye resolution and refresh rate for the exact product line and confirm that your source can output the mode you want. VITURE’s published specifications list 1920 × 1080 pixels per eye for its Pro XR, One XR and One Lite XR lines. The same documentation lists Pro XR at 120, 90 or 60 Hz, while One XR and One Lite XR are listed at 60 Hz. These are manufacturer specifications for those named lines; they should not be transferred to other generations.
A virtual-screen diagonal or distance does not tell you whether the whole image will be visible to you. Brightness and comfort also depend on the wearer and viewing conditions, so treat broad marketing descriptions as prompts to check the model’s details rather than guarantees of your experience.

In its August 22, 2026 comparison, Tom’s Guide described the VITURE Pro 2 as sharper and clearer in its comparison and noted its additional adjustment options; it highlighted the X by Xreal a01+ for style and ease. Those are the publication’s subjective observations, not controlled laboratory measurements.
Understand what “AR glasses” means for this purchase
For the products covered by the cited compatibility and connection instructions, plan on a wearable display connected to a compatible host. The glasses rely on the phone, computer, handheld or other source for video; some setups also need an adapter or external power. Do not assume they run apps or compute independently unless the documentation for the specific model explicitly describes standalone functionality.
Include only the accessories your setup needs
Price the full connection path, not just the glasses, when your source requires extra hardware. A Switch setup or a need to charge while using certain XREAL glasses may call for the Hub described in XREAL’s guide; an HDMI source may need a supported adapter. A device that connects directly may not need either. Confirm the exact model and setup before adding accessories to your budget.
For a dated price reference, Tom’s Guide reported starting prices of $299 for both the X by Xreal a01+ and VITURE Pro 2 in its August 22, 2026 comparison. That is a publication-time report, not a confirmed current price or a guarantee of availability in your region; check the retailer’s current listing before buying.
Quick Recap

- Compare the model’s IPD range and adjustment options with your measurements and whether image edges remain visible.
- Check prescription adjustment limits and compatibility of inserts or lens frames for the exact generation.
- Compare per-eye resolution and refresh rate, and confirm the source can output the desired mode.
- Distinguish a tethered display from a standalone device in the product documentation.
- Add only the adapters, hubs or prescription accessories your setup actually requires, and verify current local pricing.
