Before booking, get the specific hotel to confirm that it can fit your entire RV setup on your travel dates—not just that it has parking. Share your vehicle’s length and height, explain whether a trailer or tow vehicle will stay attached, and ask about clearance, cost, availability, and arrival arrangements. Hotel parking policies vary by property; the U.S. examples below illustrate why a general “RV-friendly” label is not enough.
Confirm the exact hotel accepts your vehicle
“RV-friendly” is not a standard promise that every motorhome, trailer, or tow vehicle will be accepted. Westgate’s general parking policy says oversized vehicles and RVs generally cannot be accommodated, with exceptions at specific properties (Westgate parking policy). By contrast, individual listings from IHG and Best Western name RVs, trailers, trucks, or motorcoaches among vehicles they can accommodate (IHG property listing; IHG property listing; Best Western property listing).

Check the page for the exact property—not just the hotel brand—and then contact the property directly. Ask for confirmation that it accepts your vehicle type and configuration on the dates you plan to stay.
Give the hotel your RV’s dimensions and setup
When you call, provide the rig’s length and height. State whether the trailer will remain hitched, whether the tow vehicle needs its own space, or whether you will unhitch and park vehicles separately. Ask the hotel to confirm space for the complete arrangement, not just the motorhome or trailer by itself.
#1 Best Overall
The Quality Inn Winslow I-40 property warns that parking is limited and advises guests with long or unusual configurations to call before booking (Quality Inn Winslow I-40 parking information). That is especially relevant when your setup is longer or more awkward to maneuver than a typical single vehicle.

Garages can have more than one clearance limit
Ask whether RV parking is in a surface lot or a garage. If a garage is involved, get the clearance for the entrance and the parking area you would actually use. Archer Hotel Redmond reports 8-foot clearance at the entrance and first garage section, but 7 feet through the rest; it advises guests to contact the hotel about alternatives (Archer Hotel Redmond parking information). A single clearance figure may not describe every part of a facility.

Outdoor parking still needs confirmation
An outdoor lot avoids an overhead garage limit, but does not guarantee a space long or wide enough for your rig, room to turn, or availability on arrival. The Inn at Bellefield / Hyde Park says parking is outdoors and asks guests with particularly large commercial vehicles or RVs to call to confirm space (Inn at Bellefield / Hyde Park parking FAQ).

Also ask where RVs enter and park, whether there are tight turns or restrictions on access, and how far the space is from the hotel entrance. If you are towing, confirm whether the approach and parking arrangement work without unhitching in a restricted area.
Confirm reservation, cost, and arrival arrangements
A listing that says parking is available—or even free—does not necessarily mean a particular RV space can be held for you. Ask whether the space is reservable or first come, first served, whether availability is guaranteed for your dates, and whether any parking fee applies to the RV, trailer, or separate tow vehicle.
Westgate notes that parking at many of its properties is first come, first served and may not be guaranteed during busy periods (Westgate parking policy). Get the property’s answer for your stay rather than assuming general parking language secures an oversized space.

Before you pay, clarify check-in timing, overnight access, where to report on arrival, security arrangements, and what to do if you need to leave a trailer or unhitched vehicle separately. Property listings can describe details such as outdoor lots, vehicle types, capacity, and access, but those terms are specific to each location and may change (IHG property listing; IHG property listing).

| What to compare | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Acceptance and space | Will the property accept your RV and fit the complete configuration on your dates? |
| Parking facility and access | Is parking outdoors or in a garage? What are the relevant clearance limits, and can your rig reach and maneuver into the space? |
| Reservation and cost | Can the space be reserved or guaranteed? What will parking cost for the RV and any connected or separate vehicles? |
| Route convenience | How far is the hotel from your route, and how easy is the approach and arrival with your setup? |
There is no single hotel-wide or market-wide standard established by these property examples. The useful comparison is the property’s confirmed answer for your specific RV and stay dates.
Use a short call script
For a clear answer, have your dimensions and dates ready and ask:
“I’m considering booking for [dates]. My RV is [length] long and [height] high. [The trailer will remain attached / I’ll need to park the tow vehicle separately.] Can you confirm that your property can accommodate the full setup, where it would park, whether that space can be reserved, and the total parking cost? Are there clearance or arrival restrictions I should know about?”
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
If the answer is uncertain, ask whether a front-desk or parking staff member can verify the space before you book. Keep a note of what was confirmed, including any stated limits or fees.
