For phone players who want a substantial, single-player farming and life-simulation game, Stardew Valley makes a strong value case. The US Google Play listing showed $4.99 and no in-app purchases when checked, but prices vary by country and can change. The key trade-off: the current Android and US iOS listings say multiplayer is not supported.

What do you get beyond running a farm?

Farming is the starting point, not the whole game. You can build and customize a farm, plant seasonal crops, raise animals, make artisan goods, and use the proceeds to develop your operation. Away from the fields, the game includes relationships with townspeople, festivals, quests, cave exploration, fishing, foraging, and crafting.

That mix matters to the value question: players who enjoy switching between routine farm work and other activities have more to pursue than crop management alone. ConcernedApe’s Google Play listing advertises “50+ hours of gameplay content.” That is publisher-provided promotional wording, not an independently measured playtime or a promise that every player will spend that long completing the game. The listing was updated June 26, 2026, and mentions bug fixes for the 1.6 update. Google Play listing

What does the mobile version add for phone play?

Mobile storefront descriptions call out autosave and controls designed for touch devices. On Android, the Google Play listing names three control options: touch-screen controls, a virtual joystick, and external controllers. It also lists auto-select for tools and auto-attack in mines. The iOS listing likewise describes mobile controls and autosave. Apple App Store listing

#1 Best Overall
Stardew Valley
  • Turn your overgrown fields into a lively and bountiful farm
  • Raise and breed happy animals, grow a variety of seasonal crops and design your farm, your way
  • Customize your farmer and home! With hundreds of options to choose from
  • Settle down and start a family with 12 potential marriage candidates
  • Explore vast, mysterious caves, encountering dangerous monsters and valuable treasure

Choosing a control option

  • Touch-screen controls: Use the screen directly if you are comfortable tapping and interacting with on-screen controls.
  • Virtual joystick: Choose this if you prefer a joystick-style on-screen input.
  • External controller on Android: Consider this if physical buttons suit you better. The listing confirms external-controller support as a category, not compatibility with every controller and phone combination; check your specific devices before buying an accessory.

Does Stardew Valley mobile have multiplayer?

No multiplayer functionality is supported according to the current Google Play and US App Store descriptions. If playing together is essential, do not buy the phone version on the assumption that co-op is available. The store listings also do not establish complete feature parity between mobile and PC or console editions. Google Play listing · Apple App Store listing

How much does it cost on Android and iPhone?

The US Google Play listing showed $4.99 and no in-app purchases at the time checked. That figure is specific to the US Android listing; storefront prices and terms can differ by region and change over time, so confirm the amount shown in your own store before buying.

A US Apple App Store listing is available, but a reliable current iOS price is not established here. Check the listing for your country for the price. The official mobile release announcement is historical and its 2018 pricing should not be treated as current. Official mobile release announcement

Who is likely to find it worth the price?

  • A good fit: You want a portable, single-player game with farming, exploration, relationships, and other activities, and you value autosave and mobile control choices.
  • A poor fit: You require multiplayer, need confirmed parity with another platform, or prefer games without fantasy violence, simulated gambling, or other content noted in the store rating.

Google Play’s US listing gives the game an Everyone 10+ rating and lists fantasy violence, mild blood, mild language, simulated gambling, and alcohol/tobacco use. Rating labels and content information can vary by storefront or region, so consult the listing where you plan to buy.
