There is no single sheet size that fits every pull-out couch. Measure the mattress’s length, width and thickness, then match those measurements to the fitted sheet’s listed dimensions and pocket depth. “Twin,” “full” or “queen” is only a starting clue: sofa-bed mattresses can differ from standard bedroom mattresses, even when they share a size label.
Measure the pull-out mattress, not the sofa
Open the bed so you can reach the mattress. Measure the sleeping surface from head to foot, from side to side, and from the top surface to the bottom to determine its thickness. Record the measurements in the units used by the sheet listing.

If the manufacturer’s manual or model page gives the mattress dimensions, use those as a reference and check that they match the mattress you have. If the dimensions are unavailable, measure the exposed mattress yourself. The sofa’s exterior width or seat dimensions do not tell you what fitted sheet will fit the sleeping surface.

Use size labels as clues, not guarantees
Published guides give different example dimensions for sofa-bed mattresses, so there is no universal pull-out-couch size chart established by these sources. For instance, Dreams’ UK guide suggests fitted-sheet widths of 120–135 cm for many two-seater sofa beds and 135–150 cm for many three-seater models, while advising readers to check the specific mattress.

These are examples from individual guides, not specifications for every mattress sold under those labels. The queen examples, for instance, differ in length. Before buying, use the numbers on your mattress and the seller’s sheet listing rather than choosing by the word “queen” alone.

Check the fitted sheet’s pocket depth
Length and width are not the only fit measurements. Compare the mattress thickness with the sheet’s stated maximum mattress depth or pocket depth. A sheet made for a much deeper mattress may have excess fabric on a relatively shallow sofa-bed mattress and can shift out of place.

Choose and check a sheet
- Open the pull-out bed and locate the mattress sleeping surface.
- Measure its length, width and thickness; write down the units and figures.
- Compare the mattress footprint with the fitted sheet’s listed length and width, and compare its thickness with the sheet’s pocket-depth range.
- If the sheet is labeled only twin, full or queen, verify the numeric dimensions before ordering.
- If a regular fitted sheet is too deep or loose, look for a sofa-bed or sleeper-sofa fitted sheet, or a sheet listing that gives dimensions suited to your mattress.
- Check the seller’s current fit details and return policy before purchase; these vary by product.
For a search, use your measured dimensions along with terms such as “sofa-bed fitted sheet” or “sleeper-sofa fitted sheet.” A product label can help narrow the options, but the listed measurements and pocket depth are what let you compare fit.
