Look for a modern GPU with Vulkan support and reliable drivers. RPCS3 recommends Vulkan, but its documentation does not show that a particular GPU can sustain a particular resolution scale or frame rate in Demon’s Souls.

How should you set resolution?
Start with the PS3 game’s native 720p output at 100% resolution scale. RPCS3’s configuration lists 100% as the default; higher scales render at higher resolutions, but the documentation does not guarantee how well any PC will handle them. Use the RPCS3 configuration reference for the setting, and increase the scale in steps rather than assuming a high-resolution target is part of the stock baseline.

What does RPCS3’s compatibility status tell you?
The compatibility entry found for Demon’s Souls labels it “Playable,” a category RPCS3 defines as completable with playable performance and no game-breaking glitches. The entry’s update date is December 3, 2022—not a current performance guarantee. Compatibility information changes frequently, so check the Demon’s Souls compatibility entry and any current game-specific settings before choosing hardware or expecting a particular result.

If performance remains poor at native output, a more powerful GPU may not fix a CPU-side limit. The official material cited here does not provide enough game-specific benchmark evidence to diagnose an individual PC remotely.
