NVIDIA’s latest surfaced SEC subsidiary schedule supports one surprising name for a list of companies it owns: Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. The schedule identifies Mellanox as 100% owned, but it omits smaller subsidiaries, so it is not a complete inventory. The available evidence does not establish five specific companies to name responsibly.
Why a five-company list would overstate what is known
NVIDIA’s Exhibit 21.1 for the fiscal year ended January 25, 2026, is titled “Subsidiaries of Registrant (All 100% owned).” It names Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. and says the exhibit omits subsidiaries that are not significant in aggregate. That makes Mellanox a documented example, not proof that NVIDIA has only one subsidiary—and the schedule does not support filling out a five-company list with unverified names.

Mellanox is NVIDIA’s clearest documented example
Acquired in 2020
NVIDIA announced that it completed its acquisition of Mellanox in April 2020. In its fiscal 2022 Form 10-K, NVIDIA reported total purchase consideration of $7.13 billion for all outstanding Mellanox shares. That is the accounting consideration reported in the filing, not the $6.9 billion headline figure announced when the deal was agreed. Read NVIDIA’s fiscal 2022 Form 10-K.
What Mellanox added
Mellanox’s significance is its data-center networking business. NVIDIA describes its networking platform as spanning InfiniBand and Ethernet, network adapters, cables, data processing units (DPUs), switch chips and systems, and software. The acquisition broadened NVIDIA’s data-center infrastructure beyond GPUs; it was not simply a purchase of another graphics-chip company.

Ownership is different from investment
A company appearing in an investor’s portfolio is not necessarily owned by that investor. NVIDIA describes NVentures as its venture-capital arm and its portfolio relationships as investments and long-term partnerships. Portfolio membership alone does not establish that NVIDIA controls or owns a company.
Arm was a proposed deal, not an acquired company
NVIDIA’s proposed acquisition of Arm did not close. NVIDIA’s annual report says the transaction was terminated in February 2022 after regulatory challenges prevented completion. Arm therefore should not be presented as a company NVIDIA acquired through that agreement.

How to read claims about companies NVIDIA owns
- Look for completed ownership evidence: a completed acquisition announcement or a dated subsidiary filing supports a stronger claim than an investment or partnership announcement.
- Keep the date attached: the latest surfaced subsidiary schedule is for the fiscal year ended January 25, 2026; corporate structures can change.
- Do not treat a short schedule as exhaustive: NVIDIA’s exhibit expressly leaves out subsidiaries that are not significant in aggregate.
