Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 launched on September 23, 2026, for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. It expands the original’s lawn-care routine with leaf clearing, a redesigned grass system, and a US career setting. Those are the developer’s feature claims, not proof of how enjoyable or reliable the game feels in play: the available information does not support a hands-on verdict. Here’s what the game offers, what changed at launch, and what to check before buying.
What is Lawn Mowing Simulator 2?
It is a single-player work simulator from Skyhook Games, which is listed as both developer and publisher on the Xbox store. You take on lawn-care contracts and use licensed equipment while building a business in a US setting. The game released September 23, 2026; current platform and store details are listed on the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store.

The work combines familiar mowing with additional cleanup tasks. The official descriptions say contracts can involve mowing, string trimming, blowing leaves and grass clippings onto a tarp, emptying collected debris, and raking leaves from areas a blower cannot easily reach. The aim is to make the job more than a single pass with a mower; whether these tasks feel varied or repetitive requires playing the game.

Grass and lawn condition
Skyhook says it rebuilt the grass system to make cut and uncut areas easier to distinguish and to vary grass height, flowers, and weeds. The developer has also said the original implementation used substantial resources and limited additions such as leaf blowing. The redesign was intended to make grass thickness easier to judge while mowing and leave more room for other features. These are design goals described by the developer, not independent findings about visual clarity or performance.
Locations, contracts, and business setting
The PlayStation description lists 11 suburban, commercial, and municipal locations, with multiple contracts at most locations. It also describes an explorable 3D headquarters, character customization, and gardens that can change between visits. The listing establishes the advertised scope, but not how much meaningful variety or progression those systems provide over a longer career.

What is new compared with the first game?
The clearest advertised changes are leaf work, a new grass system, additional locations and contracts, and gardens that can change between visits. Together, they broaden the task list beyond mowing and trimming. The official descriptions do not establish whether handling, contract variety, business progression, or the long-term play loop are better than in the original; those are questions that need direct comparison in play.

Which real equipment brands are represented?
The official store description names Kubota, SCAG, and STIGA equipment partnerships. These are licensed machines represented in the game; they are not equipment you need to buy in real life to play. Skyhook’s equipment announcement notes that inclusion of manufacturers’ machines depends on permission, so the precise selection is a game-content matter rather than a promise that every real-world model is represented. What was the launch state, and were issues patched?
Skyhook’s launch-period announcements document fixes and investigations through September 30, 2026. On September 25, the developer said it had fixed a ZTA 26s collision issue and updated contract generation and console visuals. At that point, save-data issues and mower handling on slopes were still under investigation. Later announcements described work addressing demo and full-game save compatibility, a black-screen progression blocker, memory and loading changes, PS5 save fixes, console performance, screen tearing, and menu navigation. A September 30 Steam hotfix added D-pad navigation.
This chronology does not establish the state of the game after September 30, or whether every issue is resolved on every platform. Check Skyhook’s LMS2 news for dated updates and confirm the live version and platform-specific status before buying. A patch note is evidence that a change was announced, not an independent test of stability or performance.

Is Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 worth buying?
The available evidence is enough to describe the feature set, but not to deliver a reliable quality verdict. If the appeal is methodical lawn-care work, the sequel’s advertised combination of mowing, trimming, leaf cleanup, variable grass, and contract locations may be worth investigating. If your decision depends on precise steering, slope handling, whether cleanup tasks stay engaging, meaningful business progression, frame pacing, or save reliability, those points are not established by the official feature listings and patch announcements.
