Search or browse Community Lenses. If you find the effect you want, tap its tile to add it to the carousel, or tap the heart to save it to Favorites. Snapchat documents a limit on the number of Favorites.
If you see the effect in someone else’s Snap, swipe up to check for a Context Card that may let you try its Lens. A Snapcode with a circle in the center may also unlock a special Lens for a limited time. Snapchat’s Lens discovery instructions explain these routes.

Why you might not see it
Lens availability can change over time and differ between users. Snapchat says its available Lenses are “always updating so we can make room for new experiences!” If a Lens is missing from your search, that alone does not mean you have done something wrong; the effect may no longer be available or may not appear for your account. Snapchat’s help page on unavailable Lenses describes these changes.

Update the app: Snapchat recommends checking that you have the latest version when Lenses are missing. Then search Lens Explorer again. Snapchat’s Lens and filter troubleshooting guidance covers this check.

Check device compatibility: Some Lenses do not work on older devices. Snapchat lists Apple devices running iOS 12 or newer and most Android devices running Android 4.4 or newer as supported. Individual effects may still have their own compatibility limits. See Snapchat’s supported-device information.
What can—and cannot—be confirmed
Snapchat documents Lens Explorer, Community Lenses, saving Lenses, and reasons an effect may be unavailable. The official pages reviewed do not confirm a specific Lens called “the rubber thing.” Without a verifiable name, creator, or Snapcode, there is no reliable way to establish that a search result is the same effect described by the third-party article.
