It is not presented in AMD’s published material as a separate desktop graphics card. The same Halo platform documentation pairs the Radeon 8060S with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395.
Both configurations list 40 graphics compute units. The meaningful differences are in the surrounding processor, neural-processing hardware, memory capacity and bandwidth, and AMD’s platform-level AI-compute rating—not a larger GPU compute-unit count. The figures below are AMD specifications for particular Halo configurations, not independent gaming benchmarks.

What the Radeon 8065S actually is
AMD uses the Radeon 8065S name for the graphics component of a specific Ryzen AI Halo configuration. AMD’s product page describes the Halo platform with a Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor and integrated Radeon 8065S graphics. The graphics engine shares the system’s unified memory rather than using a separate graphics card with its own VRAM.
That distinction matters when you search for hardware. The published information does not describe a plug-in Radeon 8065S board with a PCIe interface, independent video memory, or a separate retail card cooler. It describes graphics built into an AMD processor platform. A system advertised with “8065S” therefore needs to be evaluated as a complete computer: processor model, configured power limit, cooling solution, memory capacity and speed all affect the result.

Where the name appears
AMD’s Ryzen AI Halo User Guide lists two example configurations side by side: Radeon 8060S with Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and Radeon 8065S with Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495. In this context, “8065S versus 8060S” is primarily a comparison of two platform configurations, not an isolated GPU-generation comparison.
Radeon 8065S versus 8060S: published specifications
The following values are the figures AMD publishes for its Halo examples. “Up to” values are maximum specifications; an actual computer can run below them depending on firmware, thermals, workload and power settings.
| Published detail | Radeon 8060S Halo example | Radeon 8065S Halo example | What the difference means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paired processor | Ryzen AI Max+ 395 | Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 | You are comparing complete processor platforms as well as graphics. |
| Graphics compute units | 40 | 40 | AMD lists the same CU count in these configurations. |
| NPU performance | Up to 50 TOPS | Up to 55 TOPS | This measures the processor’s neural-processing unit, not gaming performance from the GPU. |
| Halo memory configuration | 128 GB LPDDR5x, 8000 MT/s, 256 GB/s | 192 GB LPDDR5x, 8533 MT/s, 273 GB/s | The 8065S example has more unified memory and higher listed bandwidth. |
| AMD FP16 AI compute listing | Up to 60 TFLOPS | Up to 61 TFLOPS | These are AMD’s platform-level AI-compute figures, not a gaming frame-rate result. |
The table shows why the model number alone is insufficient. Both examples have 40 graphics CUs, while the 8065S system has a different processor tier and a larger, faster memory configuration. Those system-level changes can influence graphics, AI and application workloads independently of the graphics-unit count.

Processor tier and CPU resources
AMD’s May 2026 announcement places the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 in the Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 Series. AMD specifies 16 CPU cores, 32 threads and boost speeds of up to 5.2 GHz for this processor. The Radeon 8060S example uses the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, which AMD’s launch material identifies as a 16-core, 32-thread processor with 40 graphics CUs and up to 50 NPU TOPS.
Because both examples have the same published core and thread count, you should not assume that a 8065S computer automatically has more CPU cores. Differences can instead come from architecture revisions, clock behavior, firmware, sustained power and cooling. A benchmark result from one laptop or developer system should not be generalized to every machine carrying the same graphics label.
Neural-processing performance
The 8065S/495 configuration is listed at up to 55 NPU TOPS, compared with up to 50 TOPS for the 8060S/395 example. TOPS here refers to the processor’s dedicated neural-processing unit. It is useful for supported AI inference workloads that run on the NPU, but it is not a direct measure of 3D rendering speed or game frame rate.

- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- Dual-ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as standard conventional sleeve bearings designs
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
Software must support the NPU for that hardware to matter. An application that uses the GPU, CPU or a different acceleration path may show little benefit from the extra five TOPS. Check the application’s acceleration documentation and the computer maker’s driver support before treating the NPU figure as a guaranteed performance increase.
Unified-memory capacity and bandwidth
AMD’s Halo guide gives the 8060S configuration 128 GB of LPDDR5x memory at 8000 MT/s and 256 GB/s bandwidth. The 8065S configuration is listed with 192 GB of LPDDR5x at 8533 MT/s and 273 GB/s bandwidth.
These are system-memory specifications shared by the CPU, GPU and other accelerators. More capacity can allow larger AI models, higher-resolution assets or heavier multitasking without swapping to storage. Higher bandwidth can help workloads that repeatedly move large data sets, including some graphics and machine-learning tasks. It does not guarantee a proportional speed increase: software access patterns, power limits and thermal headroom still matter.
How much faster is the Radeon 8065S?
AMD’s Halo page lists up to 61 TFLOPS of FP16 AI compute for the 8065S/495 system and up to 60 TFLOPS for the 8060S/395 system. That is a one-TFLOPS difference in AMD’s own platform specifications, approximately 1.7 percent when compared as 61 versus 60.
This figure should not be converted into a claim that games run 1.7 percent faster. FP16 AI throughput describes a particular arithmetic format and workload. It does not account for game-engine behavior, rasterization, ray tracing, drivers, memory contention, resolution or frame-generation settings. AMD has not published a matched independent gaming benchmark for these two configurations in the cited materials.

Compute units are only one part of a GPU design. Two integrated graphics configurations with 40 CUs can differ in clock limits, architecture details, cache behavior, memory bandwidth and how much power the platform permits the graphics engine to use. Conversely, identical graphics hardware can perform differently in systems with different cooling or memory settings.

For that reason, the published specifications support a cautious conclusion: the 8065S/495 Halo configuration is a somewhat newer and more capable overall AI-computing platform on paper, but the documents do not establish a universal gaming or content-creation uplift attributable to the Radeon 8065S alone.
Power limits: processor range versus Halo system rating
AMD gives the Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 Series a configurable thermal design power range of 45 to 120 watts. That is a processor-family range, not a promise that every 8065S computer operates at 120 W.
The Ryzen AI Halo developer-platform page lists a 120 W system TDP for the Halo platform. A system rating includes the finished platform and should not be confused with the processor’s configurable range. A laptop or compact computer can choose a lower sustained limit to meet its acoustic, battery or chassis targets.
When comparing two 8065S or 8060S systems, record the manufacturer’s sustained and maximum power settings, cooling design and operating mode. A higher advertised boost clock may last only briefly if the system cannot remove the resulting heat.
How to compare an actual 8065S or 8060S computer
Use this checklist when a manufacturer lists one of these graphics names:
- Identify the exact processor. Confirm whether the machine uses Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495, Ryzen AI Max+ 395 or another chip. Do not infer the processor from the Radeon name alone.
- Check the unified-memory configuration. Note total capacity, LPDDR5x data rate and the vendor’s stated bandwidth. The 128 GB/8000 MT/s and 192 GB/8533 MT/s figures are Halo examples, not universal requirements.
- Record power and cooling settings. Look for sustained package power, configurable TDP, performance modes, fan profiles and whether the specification applies on battery or mains power.
- Verify software support. For AI workloads, establish whether the application uses the NPU, GPU or CPU and which drivers or runtime versions are required.
- Find matched benchmarks. Prefer tests using the same resolution, memory configuration, driver, power mode and cooling conditions. A result from a different chassis is not a clean comparison.
- Separate workload types. Compare gaming, video encoding, 3D rendering and AI inference independently. A system that leads in one category may not lead in another.
Availability and OEM plans
AMD announced that Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 Series processors would be available from OEM partners including HP and Lenovo in the third quarter of 2026. That announcement does not identify a specific 8065S-equipped retail model from either company, nor does it establish regional pricing or shipping dates.

Availability can therefore vary by country and by product line. Before buying, verify the exact CPU model, Radeon designation, memory configuration and power profile on the seller’s specification page. “Ryzen AI Max PRO 400 Series” by itself does not prove that a system contains the Radeon 8065S.

Mistaking integrated graphics for a discrete card
The 8065S is documented as integrated graphics in the Halo platform. Searching for a standalone add-in board can produce misleading results because the cited AMD material does not describe a separate card version.
Assuming “65” means more compute units
AMD lists 40 graphics CUs for both the 8060S and 8065S Halo configurations. The model-number change does not, in these documents, represent an increase from 40 to a higher CU count.
Reading NPU TOPS as GPU speed
The 50-TOPS and 55-TOPS values belong to the processors’ NPUs. They indicate neural-network throughput under AMD’s stated measurement, not frames per second.
Treating memory figures as graphics-card VRAM
The 128 GB and 192 GB values are unified system memory in the Halo configurations. They are not dedicated VRAM capacities on a removable graphics board.

Turning a vendor specification into a benchmark result
The 60- versus 61-TFLOPS FP16 figures are AMD’s platform listings. They are useful for understanding the advertised AI-compute tier, but they do not replace independent, matched tests.
The practical verdict
Choose the Radeon 8065S label when it appears on a system built around Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 and you need the documented 192 GB memory option, 273 GB/s bandwidth or up-to-55-TOPS NPU tier. Choose an 8060S/395 system when its price, design or tested workload performance better fits your needs. On the published specifications alone, both have 40 graphics CUs, and the 8065S name does not prove a dramatic GPU-only advantage.
The fairest comparison is therefore system-to-system: exact processor, memory, power limit, cooling, drivers and independent workload results. AMD’s documents establish the platform differences, but they do not establish a universal gaming percentage or a discrete Radeon 8065S graphics card.
