What is Super Trouper?
The @crissyfield/super-trouper package listing describes Super Trouper as “An MCP server for the Frida reverse engineering toolkit.” It runs over standard input/output and exposes Frida capabilities as tools a coding agent can call. In practical terms, the server provides an interface between an MCP client and Frida operations; it does not replace Frida or independently perform every part of an analysis.

At a high level, an MCP client communicates with Super Trouper over standard input/output, and the server exposes documented Frida operations as tools. The client can then request actions such as listing processes, attaching a session, or loading an instrumentation script, subject to the tool’s documented inputs and the user’s local setup.

The package listing establishes the server’s transport and describes its tool surface, but it does not promise compatibility with every MCP client or provide a verified client-and-device setup guide. Check the project’s release instructions and the requirements of your chosen client before building a workflow around it.
What Frida tools does Super Trouper expose for iOS app reverse engineering?
The 0.4.0 package documentation lists the following capabilities. This is an inventory of documented tools, not a hands-on compatibility or performance test.

- Applications and processes: list and look up applications or processes; spawn, resume, and kill processes.
- Sessions: attach to and detach from processes, and evaluate code in a session.

These capabilities can support stages of an analysis, from locating a process to inspecting runtime state or loading instrumentation. The package description does not specify the device state, permissions, or iOS version needed for any particular operation, so those details must be checked for the actual target and host configuration.

- Whether your MCP client can launch and communicate with the server using the documented standard-input/output setup.
- Whether your particular device connection method—local, USB, or remote—and target process are supported by your environment.
- What device state, permissions, and iOS version are required for the operation you intend to run; the listing does not state these requirements.
- For a source build, whether you have the matching Frida Core DevKit and any needed CGO include and library paths.
- Whether the release notes have changed the bundled Frida version or installation steps since 0.4.0.
The package listing identifies the project license as MIT. Its indexed snapshot showed 76 weekly downloads and said version 0.4.0 had been published 14 hours earlier; these are time-sensitive npm listing figures, and the count is not evidence of broad adoption.
