Check that its current release supports your installed X version before proceeding.
What Re:X can change in X
Re:X groups its reported customizations across the app’s appearance, navigation, timelines and profiles, and posts and media. These are features described by the project guide, not guarantees for every X build; options and behavior may vary with app versions.

Appearance and interface
- Change colors, including dynamic colors and light or dark splash-screen colors.
- Replace the X logo with the Twitter bird, and change navigation and compose icons.
- Use the system font or Twemoji, enable image transitions, and display multiple images in a horizontal carousel.
Navigation and tabs
- Show or hide bottom navigation tabs and drawer items, adjust drawer width, and add a Re:X settings entry.
- Hide selected profile or search tabs, restore the last-used tab and scroll position, and change photo-picker behavior.
Timeline and feed controls
- Hide promoted posts, Spaces, the new-post prompt, and Premium prompts.
- Control automatic timeline refresh.
Posts, sharing, and media
- Download video and GIF media, adjust text-selection actions, and change share-link domains.
- Hide selected Grok controls and manage post-action buttons.
Advanced settings
The guide also describes Boolean feature switches and settings backup and restore. Treat these as build-dependent controls: an option may not be available or behave as expected with every version of X.

Compatibility is version-sensitive. The Re:X GitHub releases page listed version 1.6.3, released October 6, 2026, with compatibility expectations for X 12.31.0-prod.01 and 12.32.0-beta.01. Those are the versions recorded for that release, not a promise of compatibility with later X updates. Check the Re:X release notes against the exact X version installed on your device, and check again before updating either app.

The release history shows why that check matters: version 1.6.3 added an option to convert downloaded GIFs to .gif, while version 1.6.2 included fixes related to update checks, media filenames, and dynamic colors on Android 12 and 13. Fixes tied to particular builds can leave other combinations unconfirmed.
What you need to use Re:X
- An Android device with root access.
- LSPosed installed and configured.
- A version of X covered by the current Re:X compatibility notes.
- Comfort with troubleshooting modifications that can stop working after an X, Android, or module update.
This is not a standard settings change for an unmodified phone. Rooting and configuring LSPosed are device- and Android-version-dependent, so the guide’s sequence should not be treated as universal instructions for every handset.

Installation flow described by the guide
- Root the Android device using a method that supports that device and Android version.
- Install and configure LSPosed.
- Install Re:X from its GitHub releases page.
- In LSPosed, enable Re:X for the X app.
- Restart the device, then check whether the module’s settings and selected features work with the installed X build.
The precise rooting and LSPosed setup steps depend on the device; confirm those requirements separately rather than assuming this sequence covers them.

Understand the account and update risks
The DroidWin guide warns that an account could be temporarily or permanently banned when using the module. That is the guide author’s warning, not an independently established estimate of how likely enforcement is or a verified statement of X policy. If losing access to an account would be costly, weigh that uncertainty before modifying the app.

Updates can also introduce compatibility problems. Before updating X or Re:X, review the release notes for your exact app build. If a feature stops working after an update, disable Re:X for X in LSPosed and restart to check whether the module is involved; avoid assuming that a setting is supported merely because it appears in the guide.

Re:X may suit an experienced Android user who already has root and LSPosed, wants specific interface or feed controls, and is willing to manage version compatibility. It is a poor fit if you need a routine, low-risk X setting, cannot root your device, or do not want to troubleshoot changes when the app updates.
