The app named in the headline is Samsung Quick Measure, a camera-based augmented-reality tool for estimating the size of objects and their distance from a Galaxy phone. It can help you make a quick furniture-fit check or save a reading as a photo, but its results can shift with camera angle—so use a physical measuring tool when precision matters.
What does Samsung Quick Measure do?
Quick Measure uses a phone camera and device sensors to estimate dimensions and position. It is intended for rough measurements: for example, checking whether furniture might fit in a room or estimating the distance from the camera to a television or wall. The app can also capture a reading and keep it as a photo.

These functions are described in Pankil Shah’s September 22, 2026 MakeUseOf article. Current app availability, regional support, and compatible Galaxy models or software versions have not been independently established here. MakeUseOf article about Samsung Quick Measure
How reliable are its measurements?
Camera position matters. Shah reports that a 55-inch television read as 56 inches from one position and 59 inches from another. That is one author-reported example, not a general accuracy test or a product specification. MakeUseOf’s reported TV measurement example

- HELP THAT KEEPS UP: Stay in the moment while Now Nudge with Galaxy AI helps you respond faster and stay organized with smart suggestions⁵ that appear exactly when you need them on your phone
Use the result as a planning estimate rather than a guaranteed fit. If a small difference could cause a problem—such as when measuring a tight furniture opening—check with an appropriate physical measuring tool.
When is Quick Measure useful?
- Rough furniture planning: Estimate a space or object before deciding whether it may fit.
- Quick distance estimates: Get an approximate camera-to-object distance, such as to a wall or television.
- A visual record: Save a captured reading as a photo for later reference.
For current download options and device compatibility, check the listing available to your Galaxy phone; the MakeUseOf article says the app can be downloaded from the Play Store or Galaxy Store, but that availability was not independently verified. MakeUseOf article describing Quick Measure’s uses
