HubSpot can use a configured website domain to gather brand context for AI-generated content. If that site is outdated or inaccurate, its crawl could contribute the wrong context; that is a reasonable inference from how HubSpot describes the feature, not a documented error rate. You can review and manually edit the context in HubSpot, but correcting the public website itself remains a separate task.
What HubSpot learns from a website
HubSpot says its Brand Identity feature uses a company domain to crawl a website for brand-specific information. The gathered context can include voice, tone, ideal client profile, products, and competitive information. HubSpot says this context can be referenced when generating blogs, landing pages, and case studies. HubSpot’s Brand Identity documentation describes the feature and its setup.

That makes the configured domain an input to content generation, not proof that HubSpot independently knows which statements on the site are outdated or wrong. The documentation does not establish that every page is crawled, that contradictions are detected, or that generated copy is guaranteed to be accurate.
What to do if the website is wrong
Use both kinds of correction when needed: repair the public source for visitors and review the context HubSpot uses for AI. They address different problems.
#1 Best Overall
| Correction | What it changes | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|
| Update the website | Corrects the public pages that should represent the brand, such as positioning, product descriptions, audience information, terminology, and voice examples. | Does not by itself establish that HubSpot’s stored context has been refreshed. |
| Review and edit HubSpot context | Lets the team inspect the sources in Additional Context and manually edit or add information for AI context. | Does not correct the public website for visitors. |
HubSpot says manually updated information in Additional Context will not be replaced by crawl results. This makes manual edits useful for explicit guidance, while a crawl can add information from a current website. HubSpot’s setup instructions cover the crawl and context controls.
How to refresh and correct Brand Identity
- Choose the pages that should represent the current brand. Check positioning, product descriptions, audience details, approved terminology, and examples of the desired voice.
- Correct stale or inaccurate website pages. The public source must be updated through your normal publishing process; a HubSpot crawl does not edit your site.
- Start a website crawl in HubSpot’s Brand area. HubSpot’s documented setup flow includes an option to update Brand Voice if desired.
- Inspect the resulting entries. Review the sources shown in the Additional Context table rather than assuming the crawl captured every relevant detail.
- Manually edit or add context that needs explicit handling. HubSpot says these manual updates are not replaced by subsequent crawl results.
- Test with a small, representative content task. Have someone who knows the brand check facts, terminology, voice, and claims before publishing.
Brand Identity and Brand Voice are related, not interchangeable
Brand Identity supplies contextual information for content generation, while HubSpot’s Breeze editor tools also describe applying a configured brand voice to selected text. They are related controls, but the documentation does not say they are one setting or that using one automatically fixes the other. Feature coverage and access prerequisites vary, so verify the workflow available in your account. See HubSpot’s Breeze content documentation for editor tools and Brand Identity setup for its context feature.

Access requirements to check
HubSpot’s Brand Identity help page lists Professional and Enterprise subscriptions for several named Hubs and Smart CRM. It also identifies requirements including generative AI access, configured AI data sources, and a company name and domain. Accounts using Brands should set a domain or subdomain for each Brand. Because plan and access details can change, check the live documentation and the permissions in your own account before relying on a particular path. HubSpot also documents AI settings and content permissions in its AI settings guide.

HubSpot’s editorial guidance recommends checking AI output for accuracy and brand alignment, and providing guidance such as a style guide and examples. That is vendor advice, not a guarantee of correctness. In practice, review names, product details, audience claims, approved terminology, and any promises or competitive statements against the current source of truth.
