What Happens to Trials Rising Updates, Multiplayer, and Servers if RedLynx Closes?

Trials Rising's new-track pipeline ended with Season 6, but Ubisoft has not announced a game-specific server shutdown. Here is what RedLynx's restructuring could change, what multiplayer features depend on servers, and what offline players should prepare for.

Trials Rising has not been announced as shut down. RedLynx has been restructured and has faced a reported or proposed closure process, but the available Ubisoft and RedLynx statements do not establish that the studio has completed a closure or that Ubisoft has scheduled the game’s servers for retirement. Trials Rising can therefore still be treated as an active, playable product unless Ubisoft publishes a game-specific decommissioning notice.

There is an important distinction between the game’s content pipeline and its online service. Ubisoft ended production of new tracks and bikes with Season 6 in 2020. That decision predates the current RedLynx restructuring story. It does not, by itself, mean that multiplayer, leaderboards, track sharing or offline play have ended.

The short answer: a studio closure would not switch off every part of Trials Rising at once

Trials Rising is made up of several services that can change independently:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  • New track and bike production
  • Bug fixes and technical support
  • Online multiplayer, seasonal events and rankings
  • Leaderboards and player statistics
  • Sharing and downloading user-created tracks and cosmetic items
  • Offline campaign and locally available content
  • Storefront access and downloadable-content entitlements

Ubisoft’s own announcements show that these are not one all-or-nothing switch. New content ended while competitive features were promised to continue. Ubisoft’s general legacy-service policy also says that online features can be decommissioned while offline features remain available. Consequently, a RedLynx closure could affect future development without automatically erasing the copy installed on your console or PC.

Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

At present, no authoritative source establishes a Trials Rising server end date, player-count cutoff or guaranteed final support date. Any exact date circulating without a game-specific Ubisoft notice should be treated as unconfirmed.

What RedLynx’s current situation actually tells us

Ubisoft announced a RedLynx restructuring on January 21, 2026. RedLynx’s own website describes a strategic refocus and a restructuring proposal. Neither statement announces that Trials Rising’s servers will close, names a final day for online play, or says that another Ubisoft team will—or will not—take over the game.

A proposed closure and a completed closure are different events. During a restructuring, a studio can lose staff, merge teams or transfer responsibilities while a released game continues to operate. Conversely, a service can be retired even when a company still exists. The only dependable trigger for a server conclusion is a formal, game-specific service-retirement notice from Ubisoft.

Ubisoft’s official Trials Rising product pages and support materials remain available. They list the base game, Gold Edition, Expansion Pass and Crash & Sunburn content, with product information for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch and the former Stadia-era release. Their continued presence is evidence that the product has not been publicly marked as decommissioned; it is not a promise of perpetual support.

Updates: new tracks and bikes already ended in 2020

Trials Rising’s planned content pipeline ended with Season 6, “Journey of Trials.” Ubisoft News called it the sixth and final season of new tracks and bikes. Therefore, a later RedLynx closure would not be the event that stops regular production of new courses, motorcycles or comparable seasonal content: that planned pipeline had already concluded.

The end of new content does not mean that every update mechanism disappeared on the same day. Ubisoft’s Season 6 announcement specifically said that seasonal multiplayer rankings and events would continue, giving players ways to compete and earn seasonal items. It also stated that servers would remain active, including leaderboards and sharing of player-designed tracks and cosmetic items.

That wording is a historical Ubisoft commitment, not a lifetime guarantee. It explains the service position after Season 6; a later formal retirement notice could supersede it. It also means you should not interpret “no new tracks” as “all servers are already offline.”

What multiplayer and server features are covered by Ubisoft’s statement

Ubisoft’s post-Season 6 description identifies several online functions that were intended to continue:

  • Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)

  • Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
  • What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
  • Seasonal multiplayer rankings: competitive standings tied to the continuing seasonal structure.
  • Seasonal events: recurring activities through which players could compete and earn seasonal items.
  • Leaderboards: online records and rankings associated with Trials Rising competition.
  • Player-created track sharing: uploading, browsing or downloading tracks made with the game’s creation tools.
  • Cosmetic-item sharing: server-dependent distribution of user-created cosmetic content.

These functions depend on Ubisoft-operated services rather than only on your local installation. If Ubisoft later decommissions the online service, the likely impact is loss of the network connection, not deletion of the campaign files already stored on your device. Until such a notice appears, the Season 6 commitment remains the clearest published description of the intended online status.

What happens if Ubisoft formally decommissions Trials Rising?

Ubisoft’s general legacy-service policy describes the pattern used for listed retired games. It says that online multiplayer services, in-game news and player statistics for most listed titles are shut down, while offline features remain available. Trials Evolution PC appears in that retirement list with a January 25, 2024 retirement date. Trials Rising does not appear in the reviewed N-to-Z portion of that list.

That policy supports a conditional expectation, not a Trials Rising-specific guarantee:

Game function If support simply declines If Ubisoft decommissions online services
New tracks and bikes No planned pipeline; Season 6 was the final season of new content. No new content production would be expected.
Bug fixes and patches May become less frequent or stop if no successor team is assigned. Usually no further live-service fixes after retirement, except any separately announced technical remedy.
Online multiplayer Can continue while the servers remain funded and operated. Expected to stop under Ubisoft’s stated legacy-service pattern.
Leaderboards and statistics Remain usable if the relevant back-end systems stay online. Expected to be unavailable.
User-created track and cosmetic sharing Can continue while sharing servers operate. Expected to stop because uploads, browsing and downloads require the service.
Offline campaign Should remain playable with locally installed content. Ubisoft’s general policy says offline features remain available, subject to platform and content checks.
DLC and storefront entitlements Depend on the platform account, storefront and edition that supplied them. Previously downloaded content may remain usable, but redownloading or re-authentication can depend on the platform’s systems.

The offline conclusion in the last two rows is an application of Ubisoft’s general policy, not a published Trials Rising shutdown plan. Platform authentication, a reinstall, a missing license or an unavailable download can create practical limits even when a game’s offline code still exists.

Can you still play Trials Rising offline?

Based on Ubisoft’s stated legacy-service approach, the expected answer is yes for offline features if the game and its required content are installed and your platform accepts the license. Ubisoft says that offline features of decommissioned games remain available. However, it has not published a Trials Rising-specific retirement notice confirming exactly which menus, progression checks or downloadable items would work after a future shutdown.

Offline play generally means the campaign and other locally stored activities that do not need a live server. It does not preserve functions that must contact Ubisoft, such as online matchmaking, current rankings, server-hosted events, player-statistic retrieval or browsing a remote library of created tracks.

Prepare before relying on offline access

  1. Launch the game while your console or PC is connected and verify that your license is recognized.
  2. Install the latest game update and download any expansion or add-on you already own.
  3. Start the campaign and load a few activities so required files are present locally.
  4. Check that your platform account can launch the game after a restart; do not assume that a future reinstall will be possible if a storefront changes.
  5. Keep proof of purchase and the account credentials associated with your edition, because offline availability does not transfer ownership between accounts or storefronts.

These steps cannot keep Ubisoft’s servers online. They reduce the risk that a later service change, device replacement or missing download turns a still-installed game into an inaccessible one.

What happens to DLC, editions and storefront compatibility?

Ubisoft lists Trials Rising, Gold Edition, the Expansion Pass and Crash & Sunburn content as separate product components. The edition you own determines which add-ons your account is entitled to, but buying a base game on one storefront does not automatically make an add-on purchased elsewhere compatible.

Ubisoft warns that DLC bought through Ubisoft.com or Ubisoft Connect is compatible only with base games bought through those platforms. Console versions have their own platform-store licensing. This matters after a studio restructuring because a server change and a storefront change are separate decisions: the game may remain playable while a particular purchase, account or download path still controls access to an expansion.

  • Keep the base game and add-ons on the same supported platform ecosystem whenever possible.
  • Do not assume that Gold Edition ownership transfers DLC to a different console family or PC storefront.
  • Do not buy a copy on the assumption that it preserves servers, restores multiplayer or grants content across storefronts.
  • Download owned add-ons while the relevant account and storefront still recognize them, especially if you expect to replace your device.

How to distinguish a real shutdown announcement from a rumor

Look for a notice that names Trials Rising, identifies the affected platforms or services, and gives an effective date. A credible announcement should explain whether the change covers matchmaking, leaderboards, in-game news, statistics, track sharing, DLC downloads or only customer support.

Statements about RedLynx staffing, a corporate restructuring or a proposed closure are important context, but they are not server notices. Likewise, a quiet period without patches is not proof that the back end has been retired. Check Ubisoft’s official Trials Rising news and support channels for a dated, title-specific message before treating a social-media claim or a generic legacy-service list as final.

Likely outcomes under three different scenarios

Scenario New development Online functions Offline access
RedLynx is restructured but Ubisoft keeps operations assigned No return of new tracks is implied; support may continue under a smaller or different team. Can remain available, including seasonal competition and sharing. Unaffected.
RedLynx closes and no successor team is announced Further patches, bug fixes and community operations may stop. Remain online only while Ubisoft continues operating the back end. Expected to remain available under Ubisoft’s general policy, with platform caveats.
Ubisoft publishes a Trials Rising decommissioning notice Ends definitively. Expect multiplayer, events, leaderboards, statistics and server-based sharing to stop on the stated date. Expected to remain, provided the platform can authenticate the installed game and required content.

The third scenario is the only one that supplies a definite end date. None of the reviewed RedLynx or Ubisoft statements establishes that scenario for Trials Rising.

What players should take away

  • Season 6 was the final season of new tracks and bikes, and that happened in 2020.
  • Ubisoft said seasonal multiplayer, events, leaderboards and sharing would continue after new content ended.
  • The 2026 RedLynx restructuring or proposed closure does not itself announce a Trials Rising server shutdown.
  • Ubisoft’s general retirement policy removes online services while leaving offline features available, but the policy does not provide a Trials Rising end date.
  • Until Ubisoft issues a game-specific notice, the exact future of Trials Rising servers is unresolved rather than confirmed as closed.
