Embark says known cheat-program use now brings a permanent ban, while players who believe an eligible game restriction is mistaken can appeal through ARC Raiders Support. The studio has not published a false-ban rate or a definitive list of benign apps that trigger false positives.
What conduct can get you banned?
Embark’s Ban and Enforcement Policy, last updated February 26, 2026, says violations of the Terms of Service, EULA, or Code of Conduct can lead to temporary or permanent access suspension. The listed conduct includes:

- Using cheats, hacks, or third-party tools that affect gameplay, or attempting to bypass anti-cheat.
- Exploiting bugs or glitches to gain an unfair advantage.
- Abusive behavior, including hate speech, harassment, or stream sniping.
- Boosting or farming, sharing or selling an account, or trading in-game items for anything of value.
Serious violations may result in bans across Embark titles. Account owners are responsible for activity on their accounts; banned accounts cannot transfer items or progression, and enforcement can affect accounts using a shared Steam Family Sharing license.
Which third-party apps are safe—and what counts as a false positive?
Embark does not publish a complete safe-app list or identify a definitive set of commonly false-flagged applications. Its policy warns: “Using external software, even unintentionally that interacts with the game may trigger anti-cheat violations.” The policy’s practical guidance is to avoid software that affects game integrity, gives an unfair advantage, or provides unauthorized services; if you are unsure whether an app is safe, do not run it with the game.

That warning does not mean every overlay, accessibility tool, or general-purpose utility is prohibited. It means the studio assesses whether external software interacts with the game in a way that violates its rules, and the published guidance is not specific enough to guarantee that any particular product will be safe.
Accessibility devices
In a May 7, 2026 fair-play article, Embark said it analyzes telemetry and communication patterns to distinguish legitimate accessibility use from abuse, and continues to refine that process. The studio also said its systems are more familiar with common official devices than with lesser-known ones. This is Embark’s description of its approach, not a guarantee that a particular device cannot be flagged.
What is known about false bans?
Embark’s appeal process allows for restrictions to be lifted when applied in error, but that does not establish how often mistakes happen or diagnose an individual ban. The official sources reviewed publish no false-positive rate. Anecdotes about a ban cannot show how common false flags are or prove what caused a particular enforcement action.

In its September 30, 2026 update, Executive Producer Aleks said ARC Raiders uses kernel-level protection from Denuvo, detections from Anybrain, and an expanding set of in-house machine-learning and other data models. Embark does not disclose operational thresholds or other detection details, saying that could help cheat developers adapt.

Embark says suspicious behavior is assessed across multiple instances rather than relying on one suspicious event. Aleks described the approach this way: “The system analyzes behavior over multiple instances to give us a high-degree of certainty that fair play is compromised.” The studio also says it reviews publicly posted videos and streams when they provide clear evidence. These are stated safeguards, not proof that mistaken enforcement cannot happen; a lack of immediate action does not by itself mean a report was ignored.
What bans and other restrictions can Embark apply?
Embark’s September 30 update says permanent bans are now standard for accounts caught using known cheat programs: “No warnings. No second chances.” It also describes restrictions that can affect a game license, linked accounts, or the hardware used to cheat.

Is teaming with another player allowed?
Embark distinguishes cooperation that happens during a raid from pre-arranged matchmaking abuse. If you meet someone through proximity chat during a raid, cooperating with them remains allowed. The targeted behavior is coordinating before matchmaking to enter the same solo lobby and gain an advantage over players who queued alone.
Embark reported that, five days after it began keeping known queue-teaming groups apart, it saw 85% fewer players engaging in the behavior and raids spoiled by it fall from around 1 in 50 to 1 in 300, with no meaningful queue-time impact. These are figures reported by Embark in its September 30, 2026 update, not independently verified measurements.

How do you appeal an ARC Raiders game ban?
For an eligible active game restriction, Embark’s Ban Appeals guide says to log in to ARC Raiders Support with your Embark ID, open the chat bubble, and choose Ban Appeals > Game Ban. The guide allows one appeal per eligible restriction.
- Identify the restriction and include its exact message or error, if shown.
- Describe the relevant circumstances factually, including any software or device context that may help explain the situation.
- Submit the appeal through the support chat and wait for the review rather than trying to evade the restriction.
Embark says a team member reviews each eligible appeal individually, checks relevant account data and the information submitted, then returns one of three outcomes:
- Upheld: the restriction remains.
- Adjusted: Embark applies a different action it considers more appropriate.
- Lifted: the restriction is removed because it was applied in error.
Embark says it cannot share detailed evidence or detection methods because doing so could compromise security. The review process does not guarantee that an appeal will be granted, and hardware restrictions cannot be appealed.
