The ASUS Vivobook 16 F1607QA-MB082W is an Australian 16-inch Windows laptop with a Snapdragon X processor, 16 GB of onboard memory and a 512 GB SSD. Its listed specifications suit readers looking for a large, anti-glare 16:10 display and USB4 connectivity, but those specifications alone cannot establish real-world speed, screen quality or battery life. The independent review listing for this exact SKU does not expose its test scores or reviewer comments publicly.
What this review can—and cannot—tell you
This assessment concerns the exact Australian SKU F1607QA-MB082W, product number 90NB15Z1-M00680, in Quiet Blue. ASUS’s specification pages describe the hardware; they are not independent test results. CHOICE lists a review for this exact model, but its expert rating, performance and battery results, display scores and tester comments are members-only on the accessible page. There is therefore no basis here to claim a measured verdict or runtime.

The model suffix matters: ASUS also lists F1607Q family configurations with less memory and storage. Confirm that a retailer’s listing says MB082W and matches the 16 GB/512 GB configuration before buying. ASUS cautions that specifications can vary by country and model and may change without notice.
What configuration does the MB082W have?
| Component | MB082W specification |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 11 Home |
| Processor | Snapdragon X X1 26 100; 8 cores and 8 threads, up to 2.97 GHz |
| Graphics and AI processing | Qualcomm Adreno graphics and Qualcomm Hexagon NPU rated up to 45 TOPS by ASUS |
| Memory | 16 GB LPDDR5X, onboard; ASUS lists 16 GB as the maximum for this configuration |
| Storage | 512 GB SSD as listed for the exact configuration |
The 45 TOPS figure is a manufacturer-stated capability, not an independent benchmark. ASUS says the memory is onboard, so it is not a user-upgradeable RAM configuration. For a larger workspace, select the memory capacity you expect to need at purchase.

How good is the 16-inch screen for work?
ASUS specifies a 16-inch, 1920 × 1200 WUXGA IPS-level LED panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio, anti-glare finish, 60 Hz refresh rate and 300-nit brightness. The taller-than-16:9 ratio gives documents and web pages more vertical room than a standard widescreen layout at the same width. That is a practical format advantage, not proof of color accuracy or viewing quality.
The regional specification does not identify this display as a touchscreen, and the opened ASUS listing does not state color-gamut coverage. The listed 300 nits is a specification, not a lab measurement. If your work depends on accurate color, outdoor visibility or a brighter panel, seek independent measurements for this exact SKU rather than relying on its resolution alone.
How long does the battery last?
ASUS lists a 50 Wh, three-cell battery, but battery capacity does not translate directly into hours of use. The accessible CHOICE page does not show its battery test result, and ASUS’s specification page does not provide a runtime figure. A measured battery-life estimate for this configuration cannot be established from the available public evidence.
ASUS lists a 65 W USB-C adapter, but says adapter inclusion varies by country, region and model. Check the box contents on the local retailer listing if an adapter is important to your purchase.
Can you upgrade the memory or SSD?
Memory
The 16 GB LPDDR5X memory is onboard, and ASUS lists 16 GB as the maximum for the MB082W. It is not a conventional replaceable memory module, so plan around the installed capacity.
Storage
ASUS lists one M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot and specifies that only single-sided SSDs are supported. A replacement or upgrade drive must meet that physical constraint as well as the M.2 2280 and interface requirements; do not assume every drive of the same nominal size will fit. CHOICE lists 400 GB available user space for its reviewed configuration, but does not explain how that capacity was measured.
Which ports and wireless connections are included?
- Two USB4 Gen 3 Type-C ports, with display output and power-delivery support; ASUS specifies data speeds up to 40 Gbps.
- Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports.
- One HDMI 2.1 TMDS port.
- One 3.5 mm combo audio jack.
- Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) and Bluetooth 5.3.
The USB-C ports support power delivery, so the specification indicates USB-C charging support. Actual transfer speeds vary with system and operating conditions, and ASUS notes supported features may depend on operating-system support and available drivers. Wi-Fi 6E’s 6 GHz band is subject to local availability and regulation. Check compatibility for any specific dock, display or peripheral you rely on.

How portable is it, and what security features are listed?
ASUS lists dimensions of 35.70 × 25.06 × 1.79–1.99 cm and a weight of 1.88 kg. CHOICE’s public specification listing rounds the laptop weight to 1.9 kg. It is a large-screen notebook with a listed weight close to two kilograms, so consider the size and weight alongside the convenience of a 16-inch display if you carry it frequently.
The listed camera is an FHD IR camera with a privacy shutter and Windows Hello support. ASUS also lists firmware TPM and Microsoft Pluton.
What does the public review and price evidence establish?
CHOICE has an exact-model review listing for the F1607QA-MB082W and showed a price of A$1,399.00 when accessed on 7 October 2026. That is a page-listed price at that time, not a confirmed current street price or an ASUS recommended price. The page’s test scores and comments are not publicly accessible, so the listing cannot substantiate a claim that the laptop earned a particular rating or performance result.
For current availability and price, compare local listings that explicitly identify the MB082W rather than relying on family-level F1607Q descriptions. Stock and prices change, and configurations within the family are not interchangeable.

Is this the right Vivobook 16 for you?
The listed configuration is a reasonable candidate if your priorities are a 16-inch 1920 × 1200 anti-glare display, 16 GB of onboard memory, 512 GB of storage, and a broad selection of USB-C and USB-A ports. Its main buying constraints are fixed 16 GB memory, the SSD’s single-sided form requirement, and a lack of publicly accessible independent results here for battery life, display performance and application benchmarks.
Before choosing it over another 16-inch laptop, compare the exact CPU platform and compatibility with your applications, memory expandability, measured battery runtime under a stated test, independent screen measurements, weight, warranty and the current price of the exact local configuration. ASUS says this product was tested for Windows 11 compatibility and may encounter issues with Windows 10 or older systems; its Australian specifications say drivers are compatible with Windows 11 version 24H2 or later.
