E-11 means an open gas sensor error in Samsung’s U.S. and Canadian microwave guidance. Try Samsung’s simple power reset; if the code returns, request service rather than assuming a particular part needs replacing.
What the E-11 code means
Samsung’s U.S. and Canadian support pages identify E-11 as an open gas sensor error. The code points to a sensor-related fault, but it does not establish that the sensor itself must be replaced. The precise meaning and remedy can vary by model and market, so check the manual for your microwave and use the Samsung support guidance for the country where it was sold.

Samsung U.S. lists E-11 as an open gas sensor error; Samsung Canada gives the same meaning and specifies that its guidance applies to microwaves sold in Canada.

- Turn the microwave off. Unplug it, or switch it off at the circuit breaker.
- Consider possible moisture. If a spill or steam from the cooktop may have reached the electronics, allow the microwave time to dry before restarting it.
- Wait 60 seconds, then restore power and check whether the code clears. Samsung U.S. and Canada both recommend a 60-second power interruption.
- If E-11 returns, request service. Samsung U.S. directs owners to its Support Center; Samsung Canada advises contacting its Service Centre if the error persists.
This is a reset and escalation procedure, not a test that identifies a failed component. Samsung U.S. gives these steps on its microwave error-code support page.

When to contact Samsung or a technician
If the code remains after the reset or reappears, follow the service guidance for your region. Use the exact model number when contacting Samsung so support can check the applicable instructions. The Canadian support page notes that code meanings and solutions may differ for products purchased outside Canada.
Samsung France groups E-11 with E-12, E-13, and E-14 as gas-sensor faults, and its regional guidance discusses technician checks such as wiring and possible sensor replacement. It also says most microwave information and error codes require an authorized technician. Should you replace the gas sensor yourself?
These support sources do not provide a part number or a consumer repair procedure for E-11. Do not order a sensor based on the code alone: compatibility depends on the exact microwave model, and the available regional guidance does not verify a universal replacement. If service is needed, ask Samsung or a qualified technician to diagnose the fault and confirm any required part.
