Hello, Peach! and Hello, Luigi! are free character-play apps for young children. You touch the character’s face to stretch, poke, or spin it, trigger reactions, bring in familiar Mario-world objects, and play peekaboo. Nintendo’s Canadian Switch listings date both apps to October 5, 2026, and state that they work on Nintendo Switch 2 as well as Nintendo Switch.
What do you do in Hello, Peach! and Hello, Luigi!?
Each app centers on a large, interactive face. Touch it to stretch, poke, and spin the character, then watch for a response. A question-block menu lets you bring up objects and characters such as mushrooms, stars, pipes, and enemies. A peekaboo option can introduce Boo.

The activities are simple, direct interactions rather than a conventional platform game with levels or a stated score. Nintendo describes the same core features for both apps; the main choice is whether a child would rather play with Peach or Luigi.

Nintendo lists both as free digital applications on its Canadian Nintendo Switch store. After downloading, an internet connection is not required to play. Nintendo’s Peach listing puts it plainly: “There’s no need to be connected to the internet to play this application. After you download it, you’re good to go!”

Which devices can run them?
Nintendo’s Canadian listings name Nintendo Switch and state Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility. Nintendo’s My Mario support page describes the Hello, Mario! series as available on smartphones, tablets, Switch, and Switch 2, and gives these mobile requirements:

What happens when a character falls asleep?
Each app includes a sleep break after a while. Nintendo says the character cannot be woken by poking. If that behavior is not a fit for your child, Nintendo says the sleep feature can be switched off in the app’s startup settings.

Are My Mario wooden blocks required?
No. Nintendo describes the My Mario wooden character blocks as an optional NFC interaction: tapping a compatible block during play can bring the corresponding character into the app. Nintendo’s Spanish Peach page names Mario, Yoshi, Luigi, and Peach blocks and says scanning one switches the character. The free app itself does not require a block.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which app should you choose?
The feature descriptions do not establish a meaningful gameplay difference between the Peach and Luigi apps. Choose based on the character your child prefers, the device you plan to use, and whether you want the optional block interaction. Nintendo Life also reported these releases as additions following Hello, Mario! and Hello, Yoshi!; that report mentioned a My Mario Melody Car toy separately, not as something bundled with either app.
