Anthropic’s public plan information does not specify a fixed Team message quota or reset interval, so there is no supported number of messages per day or month to rely on. Instead, usage varies with factors such as model choice, message and conversation length, attachments, and tool use.
What Claude Team includes
Anthropic describes Team as “a paid plan for our Claude chat experience built for ambitious teams.” The plan combines Claude chat features with organization-level administration.
- Shared administration and billing: administrators can manage member access and billing centrally.
- More usage per user than Pro: Anthropic states this comparison but does not publish a fixed Team message allowance in its plan overview.
- Claude features: the plan includes available models in the Claude 3 and 4 model families, Projects, knowledge bases, collaboration features, and a 200k context window.
- Priority and early access: Anthropic lists priority access during high-traffic periods and early access to new features.
- No Claude Code: the Team overview says Claude Code is not included. Check Anthropic’s current plan details because entitlements may change.
See Anthropic’s Team plan overview for the current feature description.
How Team usage limits work
Anthropic’s usage guidance says the number of messages available varies by plan and that several aspects of how you use Claude affect usage. The public Team overview says members receive more usage than Pro, but the reviewed official pages do not state a Team-specific message count or a defined reset interval. Treat exact quota figures or reset schedules published elsewhere as unverified unless they come from a current source that applies specifically to your plan.
#1 Best Overall
- Message length and conversation length: longer prompts and extended conversations can use more of your allowance.
- Attachments: attachment size can affect usage.
- Model choice: the model used can affect how quickly usage is consumed.
- Tools: using tools, including Research and web search, can affect usage.
- Artifacts: creating and using artifacts can affect usage.
These are usage factors, not a formula for calculating how many messages a member will get. Anthropic does not publish a fixed Team quota in the cited guidance. For its explanation and recommendations, see Usage Limit Best Practices.
Ways to make usage go further
Anthropic recommends being specific, batching related questions, and avoiding unnecessary long back-and-forth. Reusing relevant reference material in a Project may also help: Anthropic says Project content is cached and does not count against limits when reused. Frequently used prompts may be partially cached as well. These mechanisms can reduce repeated processing, but they do not guarantee a particular number of extra messages.
Rank #2
- Put reference material used across conversations in a Project rather than repeatedly attaching it.
- Group related questions into a clear prompt when that avoids multiple rounds of follow-up.
- Keep conversations focused and choose a model suited to the task.
- Use tools and create artifacts when they add value, while recognizing that they can affect usage.
Price, minimum seats, and setup
As listed by Anthropic Help Center in 2026, US Team pricing is $25 per member per month with annual billing or $30 per member per month with monthly billing, before applicable taxes. Both options require at least five members. Prices, currencies, and tax treatment vary by region; check the current upgrade page for the price that applies to your organization. These are the published figures as of October 7, 2026, not a guarantee of future pricing.
Anthropic’s setup guidance requires a business email associated with the organization; public email domains are not accepted, and invitees must use an allowed organization domain. Team is intended for groups, not individual use. Creating a Team organization leaves an existing Free or Pro account separate, and its content does not transfer to the new account.

Is Team the right plan for your group?
Team is most relevant when a group needs centrally managed members and billing plus the included Claude chat features. Before choosing it, compare the plan with your actual workflow and seat needs:
- Do you need central member administration and billing?
- Are the listed model access, Projects, knowledge bases, collaboration features, and 200k context window suitable for the work?
- Can your team’s mix of long conversations, attachments, models, and tools fit an allowance whose exact message quota is not publicly specified?
- Does the five-member minimum and the applicable monthly or annual per-member cost make sense for your group?
- Do you need Claude Code or organization controls associated with a different plan? Team does not include Claude Code; Enterprise is a distinct plan with additional organization features.
Team limits are separate from API limits
Claude Team is a subscription for the Claude chat experience. Anthropic’s API uses separate organization usage tiers and measures such as requests per minute, input tokens per minute, and output tokens per minute. API limits should not be used to infer how many chat messages a Team member can send.
