Its early concept highlights twin crossbows, shadow attacks and leaps across the battlefield. Blizzard has not yet announced the class’s full combat or progression systems.
What Blizzard said about the Diablo 5 Demon Hunter
In its September 12, 2026 announcement, “Diablo V: Forging the Next Era”, Blizzard Entertainment described the class this way: “The Demon Hunter returns to stalk the forces of Hell with twin crossbows, striking from the shadows and leaping across the battlefield to annihilate their prey.” The announcement names no individual speaker for that statement.

The description sets out an early fantasy for the class: ranged weapons, attacks from concealment and rapid movement through a fight. Blizzard says these are early ideas, with more about class combat, progression and builds to come as development continues. The statement is a reveal, not a complete or finalized feature list.

Is the Demon Hunter confirmed for Diablo V?
Yes. Blizzard named Demon Hunter, Monk and the new Plague Knight as the first three revealed classes for Diablo V. The announcement confirms the Demon Hunter’s place in the game, but does not establish detailed abilities, skill trees, equipment rules or other build options.

- A Good Smile Company import
- From the popular game series
- Interchangeable calm and combat face plates
- Optional parts include crossbows and firing effect parts
- Enjoy recreating all kinds of poses
At the same announcement-level stage, Blizzard describes the Monk through martial combat and holy power, and the Plague Knight through spreading disease and consuming it for power. These brief concepts are not enough to compare class balance, play styles in detail or which class will suit a particular player.
What weapons and abilities will the Demon Hunter use?
The only specific weapon Blizzard names in the announcement is a pair of crossbows. It also calls out attacks from the shadows and leaps across the battlefield. Those details support a broad image of a mobile, ranged fighter, but Blizzard has not published statistics, named skills, combat rules or progression details for the Diablo V version.

When is Diablo V coming out?
Diablo V is in development, and Blizzard has announced a Spring 2029 release window in “Diablo V is Coming Spring 2029”. Spring 2029 is a planned window, not a specific launch date. Blizzard’s official Diablo V site invites visitors to sign up for future updates; the cited announcements do not confirm a platform list, price, preorder or physical edition.
How the class connects to Diablo III
The Demon Hunter is not new to the series: Activision Blizzard’s Diablo fact sheet lists it among the playable classes in Diablo III. That offers a point of reference for the class’s history, but it does not show that the Diablo V version will share Diablo III’s mechanics. Diablo III is a predecessor, not a requirement for understanding Blizzard’s announcement.
