A September 14, 2026, TechRadar report, citing information found by Samsung fan site SammyGuru in Samsung’s Buds Manager app, describes them as rumored clip-style, open-ear earbuds and lists several possible features. Those details remain unconfirmed; there is no confirmed launch date or evidence that the earbuds are available to buy.
What are the Samsung Galaxy Buds On?
“Galaxy Buds On” is a name used in reporting about earbuds Samsung may be developing. TechRadar’s September 14, 2026 report says the reported design is clip-style and open-ear, rather than the familiar in-ear style that sits inside the ear canal. The report attributes its information to SammyGuru’s findings in Samsung’s Buds Manager app; it does not cite a Samsung announcement or finalized product specification sheet.

That distinction matters: the name and design are reported claims, not confirmation that Samsung will release a product under this name or in this form.
What features do the Galaxy Buds On have?
TechRadar’s report describes the following possible controls and features. None has been confirmed by Samsung, and they could change or fail to appear in a released product.

- Volume Boost: A reported feature that could increase the listening volume.
- Auto Volume: The earbuds might temporarily raise output in a loud environment.
- Voice-assistant activation: The report mentions activating Gemini or Bixby with a spoken phrase or touch.
- Voice memo recording: A touch gesture could start a voice memo.
The report does not establish battery life, supported codecs, water resistance, an official model number, or a finalized specification sheet. It also does not establish that the reported assistant or recording controls will work in every region or with every phone.
What would an open-ear clip design mean in everyday use?
Clip-style, open-ear earbuds are designed to sit at the ear rather than seal the ear canal. That can leave more ambient sound audible than a sealed in-ear fit, which may be useful when you want to remain aware of your surroundings. The trade-off is less isolation from nearby noise, and sound delivery can be more challenging when drivers sit away from the ear.

TechRadar raises sound quality and the lack of noise cancellation as category considerations, not as findings from a hands-on test of Galaxy Buds On. The report does not confirm that Buds On have active noise cancellation; readers should not treat the rumor as a product specification.
Are Galaxy Buds On available yet?
No confirmed purchase availability is established by the report. TechRadar said the release date was unconfirmed on September 14, 2026. It mentioned October 2026 or 2027 as possibilities, but those were speculation—not a Samsung launch plan. The reviewed sources establish no price or confirmed sales regions.

Does the Galaxy Buds app confirm compatibility?
No. Samsung’s Galaxy Store listing describes the Galaxy Buds app as providing device settings and status information for Galaxy Buds generally. It says Android 15 or lower users need Galaxy Wearable installed because the Buds app is a component of it. The listing, which displayed version 8.5.10.1510 on July 14, 2026, does not name Buds On or confirm that the rumored earbuds will be compatible with the app or share those requirements.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How do clip-on earbuds compare with in-ear earbuds?
The main difference is how they sit on the ear. In-ear earbuds fit into the ear canal and can create a seal; a clip-style open-ear design rests at the ear and generally allows more ambient sound in. That difference affects comfort and awareness as well as how much outside noise reaches you. Actual fit, sound quality, call performance, battery life, and device compatibility depend on the specific product, so the reported Buds On features are not enough to compare them with existing earbuds as tested products.
