Wizards of the Coast announced a new version for 2027, with different configurations for Booster Packs and Collector Boosters. These are planned random inserts in regular booster products—not packs sold separately.
What Wizards announced for 2027
In an announcement published October 5, 2026, Wizards described God Packs as boosters where every nonbasic card is rare or mythic rare. The planned rollout begins with Nauctis: The Sunken Realm, which Wizards identifies as the first Magic set of 2027. Wizards expects Universes Beyond sets to follow in 2028. Wizards’ booster update

| Product | Wizards’ stated frequency | Announced contents |
|---|---|---|
| Booster Pack | 1 in every 1,000 Booster Packs | 1 God Pack celebration card; 10 nonfoil rare and/or mythic rare cards; 2 nonfoil Booster Fun rare and/or mythic rare cards; 2 traditional-foil Booster Fun rare and/or mythic rare cards. That is 14 rare-or-mythic cards, plus the celebration card. |
| Collector Booster | 1 in every 300 Collector Boosters | 1 God Pack celebration card; 1 foil land; 3 foil default-frame rare and/or mythic rare cards; 3 nonfoil Booster Fun rare and/or mythic rare cards; 5 foil Booster Fun rare and/or mythic rare cards. That is 11 rare-or-mythic cards, plus the celebration card and foil land. |
Wizards says the five foil Booster Fun slots in a Collector Booster God Pack may include Headliner cards, but describes multiple Headliners in one pack as very improbable. It does not give a per-card probability, so the overall God Pack frequency should not be read as the odds of pulling a particular rare, mythic, foil, or Headliner. Are God Packs sold separately?
No. Wizards says God Packs will be randomly inserted into ordinary Booster Packs and Collector Boosters, rather than offered as a separately orderable product. Why the term may refer to an older Magic pack
“God Pack” has also been used for a specific historical booster: a 2014 judge resource describes a Journey into Nyx pack containing all 15 Gods from the Theros block, and says Wizards confirmed such packs existed. That special God Pack had a different composition from the rarity-based format announced for 2027. Magic Rules Tips’ historical account
