A table published by The Motley Fool on October 7, 2026, estimates that a hypothetical $1,000 in each of Bitcoin, Solana, XRP, Cardano, Dogecoin and Shiba Inu could grow to amounts ranging from $1,220 to $189,800 by 2030. Those figures are scenarios attributed to different forecasting sources—not dependable predictions or promised returns. The current-price figures below are snapshots labeled October 7, 2026, and may already be outdated.

What the estimates say about $1,000 in each cryptocurrency

The figures below are reported in Leo Sun’s October 7, 2026, Motley Fool article. Its “current price” column is dated October 7, 2026; its 2030 estimates are attributed to separate sources, so they should not be treated as a single, consistently calculated forecast.

Cryptocurrency Price snapshot (Oct. 7, 2026) 2030 estimate and attributed source Reported potential gain Hypothetical $1,000 value
Bitcoin (BTC) $83,000 $2 million — Standard Chartered 2,310% $24,100
Solana (SOL) $116 $2,000 — Standard Chartered 1,624% $17,240
XRP $1.43 $28 — Standard Chartered 1,858% $19,580
Cardano (ADA) $0.25 $0.50–$4.00 — CoinStats 100%–1,500% $2,000–$16,000
Dogecoin (DOGE) $0.09 $0.11 — Coinbase 22% $1,220
Shiba Inu (SHIB) $0.00001 $0.001898 — Flitpay 18,880% $189,800

These are the reported estimates and calculations, not outcomes. The underlying original Standard Chartered research notes were not located for this coverage; secondary reports corroborate the $2,000 Solana and $28 XRP targets, but that does not amount to primary confirmation. The Bitcoin target was not independently corroborated. The estimates attributed to CoinStats, Coinbase and Flitpay are likewise presented here as reported by The Motley Fool, not as independently validated forecasts.

Why the six estimates differ

Leo Sun’s article frames the assets around different investment theses. These are the author’s explanations of possible value drivers, not established guarantees of adoption or future price performance.

Bitcoin: a store-of-value thesis

The bullish case described is that Bitcoin could gain from a “digital gold” narrative or appeal as a hedge against fiat-currency debasement. Whether investors continue to assign it that role is uncertain, and the $2 million 2030 figure is an attributed estimate rather than a demonstrated valuation.

Solana and Cardano: utility and developer activity

The article presents Solana and Cardano as networks that could attract developers through utility and as alternatives to Ethereum. It also notes a potential trade-off for Cardano: its peer-reviewed approach may constrain the pace of development. The forecasts depend on adoption and competition assumptions that may not materialize.

XRP: payments amid stablecoin competition

XRP’s thesis in the article centers on cross-border payments and use as a bridge currency. Stablecoins compete in payment and settlement use cases, so the forecast depends in part on XRP finding durable demand despite those alternatives.

Dogecoin and Shiba Inu: speculative attention

The article characterizes both meme coins as more dependent on speculative interest and continued attention. The especially large Shiba Inu percentage in the table is not evidence that its low nominal token price makes it inexpensive or that its estimate is more likely to come true.

How to interpret the projected gains

  • They are not directly comparable forecasts. The estimates come from different named sources and use different ranges and assumptions; the article does not establish a shared methodology.
  • The dated starting prices matter. The hypothetical $1,000 calculations use the October 7, 2026 price snapshots reported in the article. A different purchase price would change the number of tokens bought and the eventual value of the same holding.
  • A small token price does not mean greater upside. Unit price alone does not establish an asset’s valuation, supply, adoption prospects or risk. Do not rank these investments by how many units $1,000 could buy.
  • Large percentage gains are not probability estimates. A forecast with a striking upside does not show how likely that outcome is, or what losses could occur if the assumptions fail.
  • Crypto valuation is unusually uncertain. Sun cautions that cryptocurrencies are harder to value than stocks and that the industry’s future is uncertain. As he puts it, “When it comes to cryptocurrencies, we should take analysts’ estimates with a grain of salt.”

Should you invest $1,000 in these cryptocurrencies?

The figures do not establish that any of these assets will reach its 2030 estimate, nor do they identify which is suitable for a particular investor. A decision should account for the possibility of substantial loss, the investment’s role in a broader portfolio, and whether the investor can tolerate volatility rather than rely on a target price.

Sun’s article gives his own opinion: with $1,000 he could afford to lose, he would consider Bitcoin or Solana and avoid the other four. That is the author’s view, not personalized financial advice or a conclusion supported by a common forecast methodology.

The Motley Fool page disclosed that Sun held no position in the named stocks or assets. It also disclosed that The Motley Fool had positions in and recommended Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and XRP, and recommended Coinbase Global and Standard Chartered Plc. That disclosure is relevant context for readers assessing the source’s coverage; it does not verify the forecasts.
