Reported trends are forecasts and examples—not proof that one look has taken over the web. Choose a treatment because it helps your audience understand or do something, then check that it remains usable and fast.
What are the web design trends for 2025?
Reports published for 2025 point to several directions: more deliberate human-centered use of AI, expressive typography and visual identity, motion and immersive treatments, and renewed attention to accessibility and sustainability. The evidence behind these themes varies. Some reports are vendor-curated forecasts, some survey specific groups, and one prominent accessibility report is an automated scan of sampled home pages.

- AI and human-technology interaction: iF Design’s 2025 outlook frames “Human Digitality” as one of six societal transformations, including the growing complexity of technologies such as generative AI and robotics. Figma’s 2025 report surveyed 2,500 product builders across seven countries about how they perceive, build, and use AI. Neither report establishes that AI-generated websites are ubiquitous or that AI inherently improves design quality. iF Design Trend Report 2025; Figma’s 2025 AI report.
- Expressive typography and identity: Monotype’s Re:Vision explores typography in relation to social and technological change, with themes including conflict and peace, freedom and order, and climate communication. Canva’s curated trend list gives examples such as bold modular shapes, playful professional design, rough textures, and nature-inspired imagery. These are creative directions, not measured market shares. Monotype Re:Vision; Canva Design Trends 2025.
- Motion and immersive treatments: Canva’s “Future in Motion” identifies motion as a design theme. Animation can provide feedback or help tell a story, but the forecast does not show broad adoption or prove higher conversions. Follow reduced-motion guidance and offer a static or user-controlled path where motion is not essential. Canva Design Trends 2025; W3C Web Sustainability Guidelines, October 2, 2025 draft note.
- Accessibility as a design priority: The WebAIM Million’s 2025 automated scan detected low-contrast text on 79.1% of the top one million home pages it examined. It also found that 18.5% of images lacked alternative text (excluding images with empty alt attributes from that count) and that 34.2% of form inputs were improperly labeled. These are findings from an automated scan, not a complete accessibility audit or user-testing results. WebAIM Million 2025 report.
- Sustainability and performance: The W3C’s Web Sustainability Guidelines connect implementation choices with broader web impact, including optimization, appropriate typography, accessibility, and reduced motion. The cited October 2025 and May 2026 documents are draft notes, not final normative standards. October 2025 draft note; May 2026 draft note.
What do the survey numbers actually tell us?
Webflow’s 2025 State of the Website report describes a survey of 500 marketing leaders at large enterprises across North America. Its figures are useful context for that respondent group, not a census of websites or audited company performance.

| 90% | Respondents who reported their tech stack had grown in the prior 12 months. |

Which web design trends are worth using in 2025?
Use a trend only when it fits the content, audience, and task. A practical review should ask:
- Does it help the user? A distinctive typeface, animation, or AI-powered feature should make information clearer or an interaction easier—not add novelty for its own sake.
- Can people use it? Check text contrast, semantic structure, labels, keyboard interaction, and reduced-motion behavior. Do not treat a polished appearance as evidence of accessibility.
- Does it perform well? Consider the weight of fonts, images, video, and animation, along with loading behavior on slower devices and connections.
- Can users stay in control? Make motion and interactive effects predictable, with a static or user-controlled alternative when appropriate.
- Can your team maintain it? Consider how custom effects, AI-assisted output, and added tools affect consistency, updates, and the technology stack.
- Does it support a real goal? Define the communication or business purpose before committing to a visual direction, then assess whether the design serves it.
No source here establishes one visual style as universally prevalent or best for every site. Treat trend lists as prompts for exploration, then decide based on fit and evidence from your own users.

ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each cleanup step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server lets AI agents—including Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients—take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.
