1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsTest a HubSpot website in stages: preview the draft page and form, verify the published page and a real submission, then review the relevant performance, search, and speed reports. Use an A/B or adaptive test only when the question is which page treatment converts better and your HubSpot plan and permissions support it.
1. Decide what the test needs to prove
Write down the page’s intended outcome before you open the editor. It may need to render correctly, show the expected content, let a visitor complete its main action, and produce measurable results. Choose a primary outcome for the review, such as a successful form submission or a conversion measure. HubSpot does not specify a universal acceptance checklist or a numeric threshold for passing a page test.

- For layout or responsive presentation, use page preview and device views.
- For form steps and conditional behavior, use form preview, then check a live submission separately.
- For live outcomes, use the individual page’s performance reporting.
- For search visibility, use connected Google Search Console reporting.
- For site speed, use HubSpot’s dashboard for HubSpot-hosted content.
- For a comparison of conversion treatments, consider an A/B or adaptive test if eligible.
2. Preview the page before publishing
- In HubSpot, go to Content > Website Pages and open the page.
- Choose Preview.
- Inspect the desktop and mobile views. Check that important content, navigation, and calls to action are visible and usable in each.
- If the page uses personalization or smart content, select the relevant contact or smart-rule state in the preview controls and compare it with the default state.
Preview links are intended for internal account users. A preview hosted on a HubSpot system domain may require the reviewer to log in. Preview is useful for checking layout and rules; it does not replace checking the published page at its public URL.
3. Test the form flow, then submit on the live page
Inspect fields and branches in preview
- Go to Marketing > Forms and edit the form.
- Choose Preview, then inspect the desktop, tablet, and mobile views.
- Complete the fields and progress through each step. Check required fields, conditional logic, and any branches visitors may take.
Form preview cannot submit the form and does not record submission data. It therefore cannot confirm that a live submission is received or handled as expected.
#1 Best Overall
Verify an actual submission
After updating the form and publishing the page, visit the live page and make an agreed test submission. Check the expected HubSpot reporting or contact handling. This live check is necessary to cover the part that preview cannot test; HubSpot’s preview instructions do not prescribe a particular test-contact protocol.
If the form is embedded on an externally hosted page, HubSpot says its tracking code must be installed on that page for form analytics tracking.

4. Check the published page and its performance
Open the public URL in a normal browser session and verify the published content and main action. Then open the page’s Performance tab, choose a date range, and review the available page-level measures:

Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Page views, entrances, and exits
- Form submissions, new contacts, and new customers
- Average bounce rate and time per page view
HubSpot says individual-content analytics update every 20–30 minutes. That is a reporting refresh cadence, not a guarantee that each new event appears exactly on schedule. Allow for the reporting delay before interpreting new activity.
These measures describe different things. Page views indicate viewing volume; submissions and new contacts show responses associated with lead-capture content; bounce rate and exits describe sessions that do not continue through the site. Time per page view is not calculated for visitors who leave after viewing only that content. No single metric establishes that every functional part of a page passed.
5. Use the right reports for search and speed
Search visibility
To use HubSpot SEO analytics, connect Google Search Console and select a site verified there. The reporting includes impressions, clicks, clickthrough rate, and average position, with page-level comparisons.
Rank #4
Site speed
Use HubSpot’s site-speed dashboard for a HubSpot-hosted domain or URL. It evaluates HubSpot-hosted content against key Web Vitals; it cannot diagnose externally hosted content.

A/B testing
A/B testing compares two published page variations. HubSpot recommends changing one variable at a time so the outcome can be interpreted; documented example variables include calls to action, copy, media, and form fields.
Page A/B testing requires Content Hub Professional or Enterprise and Marketing Access with Edit and Publish permissions. Review results in the page’s Performance area against the primary outcome chosen for the test.
Adaptive testing
HubSpot adaptive tests can compare up to five variations and direct more traffic over time to variations performing better on conversion. Each variation must include a form.
Decide carefully when to call a result
The reviewed HubSpot guidance does not state a universal minimum sample size, test duration, or statistical-significance cutoff. Choose the primary outcome in advance and avoid declaring a winner from a very small or prematurely reviewed sample; do not treat an unstated numeric threshold as an official HubSpot rule.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need a screenshot of the public page as part of your review, ScreenshotNeo can return one with a single GET request. Replace the example URL with the HubSpot page you want to capture. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie and consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and responses report the page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

Quick Recap
Common testing mistakes and fixes
- A preview link does not open: preview links are for internal account users, and previews on a HubSpot system domain may require login. Have the reviewer sign in or check the published public URL when appropriate.
- A previewed form appears fine, but there is no recorded submission: preview cannot submit or collect submission data. Test the published form with an agreed live submission and check its expected handling.
- An embedded form lacks analytics on an external site: confirm HubSpot tracking code is installed on the externally hosted page.
- Recent page activity is missing from reporting: individual-content analytics refresh every 20–30 minutes, so allow time for the report to update.
- The speed dashboard does not cover the page: it evaluates HubSpot-hosted content, not externally hosted pages.
- SEO analytics do not show the expected site: connect Google Search Console and select a site verified there.
- A/B testing is unavailable: check that the account has Content Hub Professional or Enterprise and that the user has Marketing Access with Edit and Publish permissions.
- An adaptive test cannot run a variation: confirm that every variation includes a form.
