First check which extension you have: Evernote Web Clipper saves to Evernote, while OneNote Web Clipper saves to OneNote. Then identify whether the problem is installation, sign-in, capture, or saving. The available guidance does not establish a Windows 11-specific failure or an India-specific restriction, so treat your location as context—not a diagnosis.
Identify the clipper and the failure
Open chrome://extensions in Chrome and find the extension’s name. Check which service account and notebook should receive your clips. Evernote’s clipper can save webpages, articles, PDFs, and screenshots to Evernote; OneNote’s captures content into OneNote. Instructions for one do not necessarily apply to the other.

Note what happens when you try to clip:
- Missing or disabled icon: check installation and whether the extension is enabled.
- Blank or stuck popup, or repeated sign-in: investigate authentication, permissions, and popup behavior.
- Clip does not save: confirm you are signed into the intended account and that the capture completes.
- Only one page clips incorrectly: test another page; complex layouts, interactive content, or multimedia can affect capture.
Check Chrome, installation, and device restrictions
- Update Chrome, then reopen it and try again.
- Visit
chrome://extensionsand make sure the correct clipper is installed and switched on. - If you need to install or reinstall it, use the official Chrome Web Store listing for that product, not an unfamiliar download site.
- If Chrome says it is managed by your organization or prevents installation or updates, ask your work or school administrator whether extension use is restricted.

Fix Evernote Web Clipper problems
Evernote’s troubleshooting guidance, updated March 14, 2025, recommends isolating page-specific capture issues and checking browser settings and sign-in.

If a page clips badly or incompletely
- Try another ordinary webpage to see whether the problem is limited to one site.
- In the clipper, test Article, Simplified Article, and Full Page. Select the content you want before opening the clipper if you want to capture a particular section.
- For complex or multimedia pages, try the screenshot option. Evernote notes that complex designs, interactive content, or video and audio can make pages clip differently than expected.
If the clipper will not sign in or save
- Check that third-party cookies are allowed and that Evernote is not blocked by browser site settings.
- Temporarily disable ad-blocker extensions and test again; re-enable them afterward if they were not the cause.
- Clear Chrome’s browser cache, then sign out of Evernote in the clipper and sign back in.

Fix OneNote Web Clipper problems
Start from a normal webpage, click the OneNote Web Clipper icon, complete sign-in in its popup, and accept the permissions it requests. OneNote’s guide describes Full Page and Region as screenshot captures, and Article as editable text and images.

If sign-in is blocked or the popup will not complete, check whether Chrome is preventing the OneNote sign-in popup. A Microsoft Q&A moderator has also suggested allowing that popup, restarting Chrome, and reinstalling the extension. Compare pages, profiles, and browsers
- Try clipping a second, ordinary webpage.
- If practical, test in another Chrome profile or another browser. This helps distinguish a page-specific problem from a Chrome-profile or browser problem.
- If it fails only on one page, the page’s design or interactive content may be responsible. If it fails across pages, focus on extension status, sign-in, permissions, and account access.
- If sign-in or clipping fails across browsers, record the exact error, Chrome version, extension version, and whether you use a personal or work account. Send those details through the product’s official support or feedback channel.
Microsoft Q&A includes user reports from 2026 about OneNote sign-in or clipping trouble in Chrome and other browsers. Such reports show that users experienced problems; they do not establish a widespread confirmed incident or its cause. A moderator recommended sending feedback when the behavior continued across browsers.
