If you want editable article text or a searchable collection inside a notes app, OneNote, Evernote, and Notion offer different kinds of web clipping—but their clips are not all PDFs.
Here is how to save a web page as a PDF, and how to choose an alternative when what you really want is a note or an organized reference.

Save a web page as a PDF in Chrome
Chrome’s print flow is the simplest documented route to a PDF on desktop and Android. It creates a file from the page’s print view; it does not require installing a clipper.

- Open the web page in Chrome.
- Open Print using File > Print or the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+P on Windows and Linux, or ⌘+P on Mac.
- In the print settings, select the PDF destination, such as Save as PDF.
- Choose the save location and confirm the save.
Google documents this desktop workflow in Print from Chrome. The available destination wording can depend on your device and print setup.

On Android
- Open the page in Chrome.
- Tap More > Share > Print.
- In the print preview, select Save as PDF.
- Choose where to save the file and save it.
Google’s Chrome print instructions cover this Android flow. Menu labels can vary with browser version and device settings.
What the PDF represents
A print-to-PDF file reflects the page’s print output, which can look different from the live website. The cited Chrome documentation explains how to save the PDF; it does not establish how faithfully print output preserves every site’s layout or interactive content. If a page has a print button or a downloadable PDF of its own, that may be a better source for a document intended to be shared or archived.

Choose a clipper by what you want to keep
“Clip a page” can mean several things: capture article text for editing, save a screenshot-like view, retain a source URL in a workspace, or create a standalone PDF. Pick the result and destination that match your use rather than assuming every web clipper exports PDFs.

When OneNote is a better fit than a PDF
Choose OneNote when you want an article-oriented capture that becomes editable text and images in a notebook, rather than a print-layout file. Microsoft also documents selecting a page range from an existing PDF and clipping those pages into OneNote; that is useful for working with excerpts, but it is a different task from exporting a web page as a standalone PDF.

When Evernote is a better fit than a PDF
Evernote is worth considering if you want choices such as an article, simplified article, screenshot, or selected content saved into a note workflow. Its documentation also describes saving a web page as a PDF or as a note, so check the save option that matches the output you need.

Evernote’s Web Clipper Quick Start Guide lists clip types and the basic workflow. Its Save Web Page to Evernote page describes PDF and note formats. If you already have a PDF open in a browser, the Clip formats help page explains attaching it to a new note.
When Notion is a better fit than a PDF
Use Notion’s Web Clipper if your goal is to place web pages in a workspace page or database for later reading or editing. A database clip records the original URL, which helps keep the source with the saved reference. The documented workflow is workspace capture, not a PDF export mode.

Quick fixes if the PDF is not right
- The PDF destination is missing: Check the destination list in print settings. The available choices depend on the device and print setup; Google’s Chrome print help is the reference for the documented flow.
- The saved page looks different from the website: Print-to-PDF captures print output, not necessarily the live page’s full visual or interactive state. Try the site’s own print or PDF option if it provides one.
- You wanted editable text or a source you can organize: Use OneNote or Evernote for note-oriented clipping, or Notion for workspace capture, rather than expecting every clipper to produce a PDF.
- You already have a PDF and want only some pages in notes: Microsoft documents clipping selected pages from an existing PDF into OneNote; Evernote’s clip-formats help describes attaching an open PDF to a note.
