To follow the suggested setup while traveling, connect to a server in your home country, then clear your browser cache, sign in to Netflix and refresh. This is a provider’s guidance—not a guarantee that a VPN will unlock a particular country’s catalog. Netflix says a VPN may limit what you see to titles it licenses worldwide, and it does not support VPNs for ad-supported viewing or live events.
What this setup can—and cannot—do
Netflix has different catalogs in different countries. When it detects a VPN, it may show only titles available worldwide rather than the catalog associated with the server location. Netflix also says an account’s country cannot be changed unless the account holder moves. Its service is available in over 190 countries, but that is not a count of catalogs accessible through a VPN. This is a provider-published setup, not independently verified evidence that a given server will consistently reach a particular catalog. Neither the available guidance nor Netflix’s help page establishes that switching servers will always resolve a VPN detection message.

Before you connect
- An active Netflix subscription and an active subscription to the VPN provider are required for the suggested setup.
- Use a device compatible with the relevant app or extension. The provider lists desktop, mobile, TV and streaming devices, browser extensions, and router setup on its downloads page.
- Check your Netflix plan and what you want to watch: Netflix says VPNs are unsupported for ad-supported experiences and live events.
How to watch Netflix with a VPN in a browser
- Install the VPN app or browser extension on a supported device and sign in.
- Connect to a server in your home country, as described in the provider’s Netflix setup guide.
- Clear the browser cache.
- Sign in to Netflix and refresh the page.
The cache, sign-in and refresh steps are the provider’s published instructions. They do not guarantee that Netflix will show a specific catalog.
Using a TV or streaming device
The provider lists Fire TV among its supported device categories and directs users to the Amazon Appstore for installation. A Fire TV device is optional; another compatible device may work for this setup. Check the provider’s device downloads for its current installation options.

Netflix also supports ordinary travel use on mobile devices and computers, and signing in on a new TV. While traveling, the available titles, audio and subtitle options, maturity ratings, and downloads may differ by country. A VPN is not required for ordinary travel access. Netflix describes these differences in its travel guidance.

Netflix recommends checking whether a VPN is active and checking the client country shown by Fast.com on the same network. Its guidance says to turn off the VPN if it is interfering with access to the local catalog; for VPN-specific instructions, contact the provider. Follow Netflix’s VPN or proxy error guidance and the provider’s current support steps.

- Check whether the VPN is active on the device or network being used for Netflix.
- On another device connected to the same network, open Fast.com and note the client country, as Netflix recommends.
- If you want local titles or are watching a live event or using an ad-supported experience, turn off the VPN and try Netflix again.
- If the issue persists while using the VPN, use the provider’s current support guidance rather than assuming a different server will fix it.

What is—and is not—established
The provider describes its service as suitable for private streaming and publishes the home-country travel workflow. Those are provider claims and instructions, not independent test results. The available sources do not establish that a particular server will consistently access a particular Netflix catalog, that changing servers always avoids detection, or that a Dedicated IP bypasses Netflix’s restrictions. Netflix’s own guidance defines the limits viewers should expect.
