As of October 5, 2026, a deal report listed the Standard PC Steam key for Sonic X Shadow Generations at Fanatical for $13.49 in the U.S. That was $1.50 below Steam’s $14.99 sale price at the time. But Fanatical’s listing showed an offer end date of September 27, so the reported price is not confirmed as available today, October 7. Check both stores’ current prices and the final checkout total before buying.
How the reported prices compared
| Store and edition | Reported or listed price | What the figure means |
|---|---|---|
| Fanatical, Standard Steam key, U.S. | $13.49 | Reported by Yahoo Tech on October 5, 2026; not confirmed as a live offer on October 7. Yahoo Tech’s deal report |
| Steam, Standard Edition, U.S. | $14.99, marked 70% off $49.99 | Steam’s U.S. listing captured October 7, 2026, showed the promotion ending October 8. Steam store page |
| Steam, Digital Deluxe Edition, U.S. | $17.99, marked 70% off $59.99 | Same Steam offer end date; this is a different edition, so it is not a like-for-like comparison with Fanatical’s reported Standard price. Steam store page |
| Fanatical, reported UK price | £12.14 | Yahoo Tech reported this on October 5, 2026; Fanatical’s listing did not independently confirm that price as live on October 7. Yahoo Tech’s deal report |
The U.S. Standard Edition difference in the October 5 report and Steam listing was $1.50 before taxes or other checkout adjustments. It is not a guaranteed saving now: Fanatical’s product page showed “This deal ends 27/09/2026 23:59 UTC or until sold out,” an end date that had passed by October 7. Check Fanatical’s listing and Steam’s current listing before placing an order.

What to check before buying a Fanatical key
- Match the edition. The reported $13.49 Fanatical offer was for Standard. Steam’s $17.99 option is Digital Deluxe, which includes the base game and additional digital content; Fanatical describes its Deluxe listing as adding the Digital Deluxe Season Pass. Review the current product pages for exact contents rather than treating the editions as identical. Fanatical listing · Steam listing
- Confirm your activation region. Fanatical lists region information for activation. Make sure the key is valid in your country and that the displayed currency matches your intended region.
- Compare the checkout total. Taxes, currency conversion, or other checkout adjustments can change the amount due; compare the final total with Steam’s price.
- Check availability and timing. The Fanatical offer date shown in its listing conflicted with the October 5 reported price, while Steam’s captured U.S. sale was due to end October 8, 2026. Treat both prices as time-sensitive and verify them at purchase.
A Fanatical purchase is a third-party retailer purchase of a key intended for Steam activation, not a purchase through Steam. Check each store’s terms for purchase and refund details.
