How close are the release dates?
Warhammer Survivors is scheduled for November 10, 2026, according to Warhammer Community’s October 6 announcement. Rockstar lists GTA VI for November 19, 2026, on its official game page. Counting from the first date to the second gives a nine-calendar-day gap.

That is close enough to make the scheduling notable, especially for players who own either console both games share. But the dates alone do not establish that Auroch Digital or Rockstar deliberately positioned a game against the other.
What kind of game is Warhammer Survivors?
Unlike Rockstar’s single-player story featuring Jason and Lucia, Warhammer Survivors is a roguelite action game centered on arena combat: players fight growing enemy hordes while developing and evolving weapons. Its setting draws on both Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

Warhammer Community reports that the game has over 40 playable characters and more than 70 weapons. Those figures describe the announced game content; they do not tell us how long a typical run lasts or how the full roster is unlocked.

The platform overlap is specifically PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; the games are not listed for identical platforms overall. The announced Warhammer Survivors demo is available on Steam and Xbox for PC and includes two playable heroes: the Legend of Catachan and Lyssa Revenya. The announcement does not establish demo availability on consoles or mobile devices.

Price announced for Warhammer Survivors
Auroch Digital lists launch prices of £6.39, $7.99 and €7.49. The developer notes that prices may vary slightly by platform and region, so these figures should not be treated as a universal price for every storefront.

There is an easy headline joke in a smaller-scale arena roguelite arriving just over a week before one of the biggest anticipated open-world releases. Still, the shared dates and consoles do not show that the games are chasing the same audience or that either studio made a move in response to the other. Auroch Digital designer Ellie Harrodine announced the PlayStation date this way: “Today, we’re excited to announce that Warhammer Survivors launches on PS5 November 10.” The statement confirms the date, not a competitive strategy.

For players, the practical takeaway is simple: if you plan to play both, Warhammer Survivors is first on the calendar, with GTA VI following nine days later. The demo offers a way to sample the former before launch without assuming that its release is intended as a direct challenge to Rockstar.
