Those are different actions, with different consequences. Check your Galaxy model, region, and software version before considering any system modification.
What do you mean by “remove One UI”?
- Remove an app: Uninstall a downloaded app, if the phone offers that option.
- Change how the phone looks or behaves: Adjust settings or use available personalization options; this does not remove One UI.
- Undo configuration changes: Reset all settings without deleting apps or personal data.
- Prepare the phone for a new owner: Back up your information, then factory-reset the device.
- Install different system software: This is a device-specific modification, not an ordinary reset, and can affect Samsung Knox security features.
Samsung’s support instructions explain how to uninstall downloaded apps, but do not describe One UI itself as a separately uninstallable app. Samsung’s app-removal example uses Galaxy Wearable; it does not establish that every preinstalled app can be removed. If an app has no Uninstall option, the available choices can depend on the model and software version.

- Find the app on the Home screen or in the Apps screen.
- Touch and hold its icon.
- If Uninstall appears, tap it and confirm.
Samsung demonstrates this method with Galaxy Wearable. If Uninstall is not offered, the app may not be removable by that method on your device. The cited guidance does not provide a complete list of removable or disable-able system apps across Galaxy models.

Undo settings without erasing apps or data
- Open Settings.
- Tap General management.
- Tap Reset.
- Choose Reset all settings and follow the prompts.
Samsung says Reset all settings does not erase apps or personal data. It is different from Factory data reset, which removes personal data. Menu names and screens can vary by Galaxy model and software version. See Samsung’s reset instructions if the labels on your phone differ.
Erase your phone with a factory data reset
Use this option if your goal is to wipe personal information or return the phone to factory settings—not to uninstall One UI. A reset deletes personal data. Back up anything you want to keep before starting.

- Open Settings.
- Tap General management, then Reset.
- Choose Factory data reset.
- Review the information on screen and follow the confirmation prompts.
If you are signed in to a Samsung account, Samsung says its password may be required to complete the reset. Menu labels can vary by model and software version; follow the wording shown on your phone.
Know what may happen after the reset
Google Factory Reset Protection (FRP) may require verification of the Google account previously registered on the device when the reset was performed by a method other than the Factory data reset setting. Samsung says that on Android 9 and later, the previous screen-lock method may also be available for ownership verification. If you cannot verify ownership, contact Samsung Support; do not try to bypass the ownership check.

If a boot loop is the reason you want a reset
Samsung describes factory reset as a last-resort troubleshooting step for some startup problems and advises backing up data where possible. A reset can erase information, so first consider the recovery options in Samsung’s boot-loop troubleshooting guidance.

A factory reset restores the phone’s factory settings; it does not install a different operating system. Replacing system software depends on the exact Galaxy model, region, and software version. Samsung’s cited support and Knox documentation do not establish a universal list of eligible devices or provide one procedure that applies to every Galaxy. Do not assume a method for one model or region will work on another.

Understand the Knox consequences
Samsung Knox documentation explains that Trusted Boot checks boot components and that a device running a non-approved configuration can set the Knox Warranty Bit, a persistent hardware record. Samsung says some Knox features may then become unavailable, including work-profile-related functionality and services that rely on Knox security. Read Samsung’s explanations of Trusted Boot and hardware-backed security before deciding whether to pursue a modification.
